Being a punk has nothing to do with age. If the sh!t fits, wear it.
Exactly, on this we can agree! Your thirdgen is powered by this: 190@4800 240@3200 and you're talking smack about a thirdgen powered by this: 245@4400 345@3200. Yes sir, you most definitely are a punk.
I don't even understand the argument, my L98 did 2 13.5's last Saturday with stock heads, cam, intake, runners, plenum, TB, air box... see what I'm getting at here. It's all junkyard and it broke 13's hard, but I guess it's a dog. If that's a dog to you so be it I don't need your opinion, most other people are impressed by it.
Having a similiar L98 (or 383, 406 etc., for that matter), w/exhaust and converter, but tossing it's TPI system, in favor for carb, you'll run even better times at the track.
Saying it online is one thing, but to say it in real life is quite another.
What are you saying...you think im hiding behind a moniter? You think I would say something to someone in person? Think again. If we live closer, youd soon realize how wrong you are. And the rest of you guys obviously dont have a clue as to what youre talking about. A 16 year old kid might be impressed with 13's, but I am not. Now, who else wants to keep this going? TPI IS GARBAGE!

for just exhaust and converter on a 15+ year old car is very impressive. same with the 5.0 stangs..minimal mods will do low 13's. thats good for those cars of that time period.
but for a mid 12 second car, i dont think you'll find another intake system that makes as much power underneath 4000rpms as TPI. that makes for a brutal short range (stop light to stop light) car on the street and 1/8 mile provided theres traction. only after 70-80 mph is where other intakes will shine and you shouldnt have to worry about goin much faster than that on the street. most of the time on the street your well below 5K rpms so thats a bonus for TPI. TPI is a fine choice for a street car that wants to go 12's.
sure theres cheaper ways to go about gettin the most performance for the dollar but you can find used TPI stuff for the same price as other intakes new or used as well (miniram/superram used still over 600-700 bucks)
if you feel the need to go faster than that, then theres other choices. which i'm takin up cuz i want to go 11's. LOL
Turbo's can also be applied to Carburetors any day of the week...
Yes they can. I just want to ruffle this other dudes feathers. He is obviously trying to make up for what he is lacking in his "manhood" by being a inconsiderate prick to everyone that has a different opnion than his.

13's stock long block, factory intake; yeah that's garbage alright, not impressed? No one's here to impress you and looking at your past posts it looks like you couldn't get your TPI out of the 14's. Not the intake's fault it was yours. Let's look at this from a matter of economy, keep the completely stock engine, work with the factory parts and hit 13's or pull the motor apart, install a cam, intake, carbeurator, and change the fuel system over sounds like a genious move to me... Exactly what does this behooved 305 engine of yours run? Not like it matters to me but members are on here to support other members something you haven't done, all you do is ask advice and throw stones. Finally when you get called out for living in a glass house you act like a child and won't drop a foolish comment that you can't support because it's entirely based on your opinion. Once again mods please LOCK THIS THREAD there's no point in arguing this any longer it's not going to change anyone's opinion one way or the other.
Yeah, lock this post. I dont know how much more I can laugh here. What a bunch of clowns. Ive built more sub 12-second cars than most of you have ever been in. Beat it rubes. Im not impressed with any of your junk. The only 80's performance car that impresses me is the Fox bodied Mustang, and the TTA. Ive never been impressed with a TPI car. Ill explain it once again for the morons that didnt catch it the first time. A TPI car CAN run. But for the money you put into it, and the results you get...whats the point? For the same amount of money, youll get a carb car to run circles around it 90% of the time. Sure, youll lose economy and driveability...but for all out performance, Ill gladly take a carb, HSR or Miniram setup any day of the week. Why cant you people figure out the a Tuned Port Injection intake manifold system is not the optimum setup for performance? It wasnt even designed for that. You think youre something special because you make more TQ at a certain RPM range than another car? It takes more than low-rpm TQ to win a race. I dont street race, Im more mature and have more of a brain than that. Just out of curiosity, lets hear the details from some timeslips. 60', 330', 660', mph...etc.
By economy I mean financial wise, why throw away a perfectly good intake system when it meets your goals. I could come on here and bash TBI cars all day but there's no point and I'de quickly get proven wrong about the TBI being a weak induction system by members who've used it and made it work. I could also sit here and bash 700R4's all day because I've had no luck with them and turbo 350's are "better" that would be my own opinion. I suppose what you're trying to tell us is that the resonant tuning of the TPI system isn't optimal for performance, it works pretty well for me considering I don't see a need to rev my motor past 5500rpm and I'm geared high enough to take advantage of the wide, early torque peak. It's a dual purpose car; weekend cruiser/track car and the system works for me. As for telling everyone TPI cars are dogs then saying 13's are weak numbers once again that's completely your perspective and one that the majority of people wouldn't agree with. Every time I take it to the track people ask what I did to it to make it run that fast and can't believe it when I say it's still stock. I bought my motor from a junk yard for 350 bucks complete, 13.5 on a junkyard engine that hasn't had any major parts changed is good in my book.
