Depending on traction for both, it'll be a good race. There have been a number of bone stock '05-'06 GTO's run in the 12s. With drag radials, they have gone as far as 12.6 as the only mod. The power is definitely there for both cars.
Like the guys above said. It depends on the dyno. My 385 Fastburn, is putting out 423hp 469tq and is running low 12's high 11's. A stock gto aint gonna touch it, now if its highly modded w/ charger im probably 'f'ed

I think its gonna come down to launch. You didn't mention what type of rubbers hanging on the back axle, that could make or break you, you've got a good amount of motor, you're lighter, and should hook pretty good with the right setup on the rear. GTO's are quick too, but arn't as easy to hook, from what I've seen. Defintely wanna hear about the outcome
Dont know if this applies or not, but last year when I was autocrossing I was within 1.5 seconds of a stock 06 GTO. I didnt think that was that bad. My mods are in my sig. The guy was an old man too who said he had lots of experience autoxing.
I have an 06 A4 GTO. If its bone stock( with stock tires ) it will have trouble launching. The stock tires just do not stick. I've seen one GTO turn 12.9 completely bone stock but the guy knew how to drive. Low 13's is a good number for most. Just make sure he has no tune. The tune alone will pick up at least 20 hp and get rid of the torque management which really hurts the A4.
i also went up against an ls2 gto at an auto cross and cosistently had him by 1.5 to 2 secs. granted it was a younger guy drivng, but so am i and my car is bone stock with 150 less hp.

If you hook you win.

150hp doesn't make up for the adt'l 500-700lbs the GTO is throwing around, not in auto-x anyways. I would think a stock, well driven third gen would beat a GTO every time in a tight auto-x. A real fast track might be closer as it'll start to favor the powerful cars.

Measured Curb wieght for the '04 GTO is 3761 lbs., so unless your F-Bod is stripped, or the '06 model gained a few hunnerd lbs. the difference is more like 200-300 lbs.

Measured curb weight for a 1992 Z28 Couple is 3273lbs... roughly 600lbs different give or take. We all know both cars are going to weight more real world anyways, I think about 500-700lbs difference is still fairly accurate.

The GTO weight listed in the article *is* real world. IOW, as weighed the day the magazines raced it at the track, so it included fuel.
Your weight listed for the Z28 is (like I said) for a completely stripped. *No options at all* 305 5-speed car, dry weight. IOW, Not very typical at all.
Using the options listed, a lightly optioned (A/C only) 5.7 liter '92 Z28 (race weight) will be closer to 3424lbs. (still with no fuel). A '92 Z/28 with *all* the options (no fuel) is close to 3512 lbs. so the difference is only 248lbs. to 327lbs.
