First Kill (John Cooper Works Mini Cooper)

well. I got my first kill, and i didn't even have to leave my neighborhood!!

I was test running the car today in preparation for the inspection i hope it will pass sometime in the next week or 2. (whenever my dad gets time).

anyways, at the end of my dead-end street, you pull onto a 2 lane road... long smooth and flat, 25 MPH speed limit. I pull out (right) and start slowly accelerating through the gears, and this Mini cooper flies up behind me. Now i'm just testing so im only going 20-25 MPH, trying to feel stuff out. This mini behind me is PO'd that i'm actually going the speed limit. So like 100 yards down the road he floors it and gets real close then backs off. he keeps charging my rear and juking around behind me for like 20 seconds. Needless to say this is getting me pretty annoyed because im trying to pay attention to my car, and i am going the speed limit. Then we get to a stop light and i turn right to make a circle back home (still really close) and there is no one around. I am turning right and so is he. when the light turns green i turn, and i hear this ***** sound behind me. he probably floored it, and swerved into the oncoming lane (no one was coming) and went to fly by me (striped line, not dotted, very unsafe at an intersection). And i know i shouldnt of, but the driver was some punk kid around my age and he had me POd at this point, so i dropped it back into first (had just went to 2nd) and dropped the hammer as he had almost got past me. Spun the tires a bit but somehow it gripped and my baby launched back up next to him. then in front of him. Then way in front of him. Needless to say, at the next light i went right again and he went left after flipping me the bird .

i think she'll pass inspection

Oh and my gf was in the car. Maybe that contributed to it..... She thought it was hilarious

edit: it looks like it was the "John Cooper Works" Mini Cooper cause it had those stripes. 208 HP 192 FT LBS..... Seemed slower than that

any mini can have stripes and i have a 06 s and when we go to the beaver run thoses john works can keep up with 911 so u might have got him in a sraight line catch it on the back road and you would probably have been looking at his bumper if u could keep up it that close

Re: First Kill (Mini Cooper S)

Keep up with a 911?

I thought the john works looked like a joke. I mean 208hp isent bad in such a small car, but im pretty sure a 911 or a modified thirdgen would stomp it.
I see a 6ish second 0-60 for the john works online so its not THAT fast.

Re: First Kill (Mini Cooper S)

Well lets hope he wants to get embarrassed again then, lol.

I looked online and saw something that the John Works did like 6.5sec 0-60 which to me seems really slow. Doesent a stock Mustang GT do it in like 5.4? And they run like a mid 13sec 1/4 if im not mistaken.

So I say the John Works will do the 1/4 mile somewhere in the 14 sec range.
