'89 Camaro 3.1 Turbo vs Datsun 240z w/Grand National Engine....
Okay guys, what do ya think? Once we finish up the freeze plugs on Dave's Camaro, we're going to reschedule the race for sometime next week (was supposed to go down last night at the track). The Datsun was running very strong at around 18 pounds of boost, running a very respectable 12.1 @ 115mph. The Camaro was having a little trouble last night, and in that state, couldn't allow for boost to go anywhere near above 6-psi....
The Datsun was driven by a very experienced racer, and I believe it was running a 700R4 w/3000 stall speed converter. Rear gears, I believe, are 3.42, and he was running street tires. We had the car weighed right after the first run (first run, he ran a 12.8, same mph by the way), and it came in at 2880-lbs with driver. After three runs, he averaged a mid 12 for the night....
The Camaro, I'll let Dave handle this one, being he knows the car much better that I do in detail....
I think this is going to make for a very good race, any thoughts...?.

Dude, those Gremlins are only in your cooling system. Once that's sorted out, and we get a better driver in there that knows how to build boost off the line, your golden. The only bad part is I doubt Paul will be running that thing himself, probabaly Shawn, and Shawn has a much better reaction time than him....

3400 at the moment,but i can easily drop that back down to 2900 before the track again,alot of the wieght is the spare tools/parts ive been carrying.
cars making just over 300hp @6 psi ive had the boost as high as 9psi so far but only on the street if i can get my boost turned up i think it will be a pretty good run
