Yup, hoping to have a hot little 305. But maybe a 350 or 383 could be in my car sometime in the future.
But for now im trying to see where these parts will take my 305.
Assuming you can tune it with EBL (most places won't tune TBI right) you would be well ahead of 300rwhp. The real question as stated above, is why? You would spend $13K + in parts to retain a old worn out 305 small block? Why not just build a $5k 350/383 that would make 300+ at the wheels. Horsepower per dollar goes a lot farther when you have realistic goals.
Seen most of those cars before. Yeh I know their are some really fast 305s out there, I just wanted to see if anyone had any idea what kind of numbers this build up would get. The only major part I need to get is the heads which im buying from some guys down the street from me, everything else I have.
Everyone seems to say superchargers arent that good with TBI, but ive read about some of the 454 guys getting 40-50% increase in HP with the Whipple supercharger, so I havent the slightest idea as to what to expect from my supercharged set up.
But im expecting at least 300whp, if I dont get that then im going to be very disappointed, if I can nail upper 300whp I will be very happy as most cars in my area will be toast. I only dynoed 146whp with the exhaust and fuel system and I already was neck and neck with my friends manual Audi TT and got beat by 1 car against a modified Lightning, so with more then double that hp I need not worry about very many stock or stockish cars.
im not familiar with that cam. but with all those mods, and if you get the tuning right. mainly enough fuel. i think you may be pleasently surpried for sure.. remeber hp sells cars and tq is what wins street races.
Yeah I dont know anything about camshafts [I had a local shop pick this cam out for me] but im getting it tuned at www.classicgtmotorsports.com/
I found them on here acually, and I emailed them a few months earlier and they have done more then a few TBI tunes, so I should be good. Im just gonna put everything together, increase fuel pressure [better too rich then too lean] and hopefully limp my car over to the dyno shop.
I should be 100% done by the end of august or the beginning of september [im in germany til the 24th of this month] But once I get all the numbers in and everything ill be sure to post pictures as to how everything looks and give you guys the dyno results.
Everyone seems to say superchargers arent that good with TBI,
Before EBL this was correct. The stock ECM cannot support boost, therefore it was impossible to tunbe for. EBL will allow you to tune for boost but it still requires skill and TBI tuning experience. I doubt the people offering the dyno services will get it correct. This is not the same as tuning any old OBDII boosted car. None the less, you are wise in going with EBL, otherwise your combo would make less power than stock.
FWIW, Fast355 has made almost 400rwhp from N/A TBI combos (under 350 cid too!). It can be done, but it takes an advance knowledge of these systems.

You can always repin your ECM to run either a 1227730 ECM with a AUJP chip and a $58 mask. This of course means that you will have to change from MAF to Speed Density. And if you are planning on running a boosted ECM 1227749 with either a $58 or $59 mask will get you so you can tune your car. I can get you all the schematics on info on what you will need if you like

Ill just keep the lt4 springs and stuff, because I plan on going to a 350 and some AFR heads maybe next year, so the L98 vette heads with the LT4 springs are basically just to get everything up and running for the next year or so.
And I also ordered all the gaskets I need and as far as ignition goes I ordered MSD coil, cap and rotor, plus I got NGK TR6 plugs [now that I think of it, will those plugs work with L98 heads?]
I ordered a proportioning valve for my LS1 brake swap.
