Easy kill Mustang GT 4.6 5 speed

I was drivin by a local gas station pullin out so I pushed in the clutch and piped him. So he fallowed me out of town when he then tried to pass me doin about 30 so i put the pedal down. Spun in second and and a little in third. He didn't know what to think. We raced a little more than quarter mile i prolly pulled 15 or more cars on him then let off and stopped at an intersection. Out of stupidity he just stayed on the throttle and blew through the entersection. Dumb *** He asked me later what was in the old maro I just told him a little four banger

Re: Easy kill Mustang GT 4.6 5 speed

What combo do you run if you don't mind me asking...

Having someone go by with a head start, and then yanking 15 cars on them (how do you verify 15 car lengths, thats close to 200 feet?) is not an easy task.

I have actually raced a near stock 03 GT (I'm unsure what year one you raced, but I assume similar) on the highway. Giving him the hit I would walk past and put a couple cars on him (2-3 at most) to the top of 4th gear.

Sorry for all the questions, just an interesting race and looking for more info here.

Nice kill btw!

NICE kill, sounds exactly the same as me racing my sister, she has a 98 Gt auto vert with a cat back, they are SLOW those stock 4.6's. my friends 95 cobra 5speed vert with again just a catback, is a lil faster, we started at 65, me in third(3k rpm), him in i have no idea, 2nd or third, and on three, he pulled about 1/2 a car on me before we got to 95, and as soon as i hit 4000~4200 rpm i just left him, put no joke 8 cars on him in the next 5 seconds, shifted to 4th, and kept walking away till about 12 cars, and we shut down at 130~145. im not sure if i was just in to high a gear to start off, or he's fast untill he gets into his top end, either way, i was happy i put such a hurtin on him, even though my car is way more modded

5 seconds isn't "just" walking away... its more like running away.

Ya... Sounds decent. I pulled about 65-70 cars on a mustang in about a 1/4 mile... But then I realized it was parked.

Re: Easy kill Mustang GT 4.6 5 speed

Lol, my guess it the numbers just seem unreasonable. To pull 8 car lengths in 5 seconds would take a good amount of top end pull, when compared to a 14 second or better car, whether it be Mustang or Diesel pickup. I have never honestly pulled that many lengths on someone from a roll race and Ive raced a couple 14 second cars.

Re: Easy kill Mustang GT 4.6 5 speed

alright, 5 seconds does seem fast for 8 lengths when i think about it, that would be over 1 length a second, call it 6 lengths and 8 seconds maybe a bit longer, it seemed faster while it was happening, but in the moment maybe everything seems faster. regardless it was pretty dang fast

Thats why I said it was probably 15 cars I dont know the exact distance but it was a huge gap. I have 350 bored sixty over 11:1 comp. internally balnced forged steel gm crank with LT1 rods and speed pro forged pistons . tuned port corvette alluminum heads that have been ported and 1.6 exhaust valves. comp cams solid lifter cam matched valve train. 540 intake 558 exhaust. 292 298 duration. profeesional products hurricane intake 750 holley double pumper with mechanical secondaries. Digital 6 MSD, shorty headers with dual exhaust straight through mufflers. Centerforce dual friction with a t5 and 4:10 gears. Put the engine on the desktop dyno program. Supposed to make 496hp at 6800 rpm and 468 ft/lbs at 4600 rpm. I would have some 1/4 mile times if I would have not broke the tranny lol. It broke in second gear I pushed in the clutch and coasted the rest of the way

With that type of mod list, I can see walking away from one of those cars with ease. Not sure a T5 is going to last (check out Gforce if your interested in keeping a T5) with that combo, but more power to you, stick shift cars are the best!

Yea already broke it once I know its the weak spot but I got it for free and rebuilt it really cheap. I can't afford a really nice tranny right now but hopefully soon, i would like a richmond 5 or 6 speed. What you think about the super t-5? thats also an option

Best bet for trannys would be going to the website listed above when you have the money or drop in a T56.

Re: Easy kill Mustang GT 4.6 5 speed

Not sure about the super T5... The T56 (Viper Spec) would be a GREAT street tranny and takes a ton of abuse.

I have never researched Richmond, but they have been in the game for a long time.

Getting a stout 5 or 6 speed shouldn't be tough, just $$.
