1995 camaro vs 1988 suburban

Some guy thinks his 1995 camaro with a 3.4 auto is fast! I told him I bet I could beat him with my 1988 suburban 4x4 in a 1/4 mile drag race...lol! My suburban is not stock, it has a fresh 355 4 bolt main, vortec heads, Comp 280H cam, holley 650 and makes 320hp at the crank. It also has 265 75 16 tires, 410 gears and a th400 tranny. But it weighs 7200lbs. I think I can take him...what do you think? Freeway would be no contest but I think I have enough torque and gears to smoke him out of the hole and stay ahead for a 1/4 mile! That would put an end to his braggin about how fast his car is...LOL! A rough guesstimate I bet I could run about 85 maybe 90 through the traps. I might use my 150 shot off the Trans Am for this run...lol!

I agree, it shouldn't be anymore than probably 5-6k..... Maybe your looking at the GVW? I had an 86' ramcharger (a tank) and still GVW was 4500ish lbs..... and that's fully loaded.....

Re: 1995 camaro vs 1988 suburban

Those suburbans are quick, don't be fooled. I have a 91 GMC 2500 4x4 suburban with a 350 and cai only with a rebuilt transmission. It's quick at first but over 55 it's not so quick. Then again mine is for towing and snow driving.

Your suburban shouldn't have problems beating it in a 1/4 mile. Race him, and video it!
