well first off im not a real big fan of racing on the street, thats why this was the first race in the 6mo ive had the car running. that being said i couldnt help myself when i saw a 60's model camaro (69?) roll up beside me and match speed. so im running like 2500rpm in 2nd gear, hes right beside me and i wait for him to go. When he kicks it i follow close suit, spin ... wheelhop pretty good, but quickly close the 1/2 car jump he took and pulled a car length on him. by this time i have run out 2nd gear and am prolly goin 60 mph on a 55mph zone so i let off and he pulls back along side. Do the same thing all over again, kick 2nd,... spin ... wheelhop, grab 3rd and spin it for a sec and let off. Pulled 2 cars on him and let off. He gives me the thumbs up and we go our seperate ways. Prolly hit about 65-70 ( the speedo isnt hooked up yet after last weekends tko swap)This was more play than race, dont wry the road was empty. His car was beautiful but it was nice to see him give my dirty 3rd gen a thumbs up!
Now on the agenda for tomorrow is fix that stupid wheel hop,... somehow?

Re: First ever race, First ever kill... 60's camaro
yeah even on a non lowered car...they help....cause you can adjust the settings on them. Usually its either the bottom hole or the one right above it......my car was lowered and I had them set on the bottom hole and never once had wheel hop and it was pushing alot of power with the 3600 stall on top of it.
I hope to have the car back someday...still waiting to see
and once in a blue moon is usually when they get ya....just be careful, i'd hate to see someone else lose their car.
Re: First ever race, First ever kill... 60's camaro
LCA will deffinately help. i bought tubular sphon's and it took away all the wheel hop. until i lowered the front end then i put on the brackets too..took it all away. deffinately something i recomend doing.
Re: First ever race, First ever kill... 60's camaro
Should i go with weld on or bold on LCARB's? i can weld but not to well upside down under the car, lol. Is there enough of a diff between the two to care?
