who would win? GTI fahrenheit vs 87 GTA

This kid in my summer school class found out that i drive a trans am, and he was mouthing off about it being a slow piece of crap and because is 22 years old has no chance to beat the GTI that daddy gave him. so i asked if he wants to race to see if his "almighty" GTI would lose to a piece of crap trans am. i was half joking at the time but he seems to really want to and that has me wondering if i could win. our power seems about the same but i have more torque. i really dont know the outcome and im wondering if i should either bite the bullet and race or just walk away from a potential a** kicking.

From what i know his car is bone stock, and mine has a 3" exhaust and b&m shift kit the owner before me installed

Are you sure he's got the fahrenheit? One of 1200 and he wants to race you? Little orange bugger.

If you got the L98 you should be even or come out a little ahead if he can't drive it. Not sure how GTA differ from Iroc in weight but the times are almost identical.

You already called him out. To late for you too back out now.

Run him & see. Just feather your throttle at take-off, if your a L98, and don't blow the tires on the launch.

yeah hes got the fahrenheit, number 1001 i see it driving around town alot so i know hes not bsing me with that.

im confident that it will come down to a drivers race. im usually pretty good with keeping the tires planted, but im wondering if there are any quick little ways for me to get any advantage. i already plan on taking out my seats and all the junk in the trunk.

look at it like this, if you win then he shuts up. If you lose, its a perfect excuse to do a bunch of go fast mods.

Re: who would win? GTI fahrenheit vs 87 GTA

well the GTI is pushing 200 in the Hp number and a little over that for torque. If your car is pushing as much Hp as it came stock with then maybe. even though he may be down on power its not by that much and he does have the weight factor. idk it up to you
