Re: van beast camaro wtf?

i know some mini vans came with a turbo stock in 1989-91. they actually have a good following and a nice website that shows you how to make them pretty quick. im pretty sure it wasnt a dodge caravan though. minivan-the ULTIMATE sleeper!!!!

Re: van beast camaro wtf?

I read a post on that thing on this site like a year ago.

If its the same one they dropped a v8 in it and converted it to rear wheel drive. Which explains why its jacked up and slanted.

Re: van beast camaro wtf?

Never doubt the power of a 2.2 or 2.5L turbo Dodge. You can make them pretty quick very easily. I used to have a 92 Dodge Spirit R/T and could knock off my buddies brand new 93 Z28. Mine definitely was a sleeper because nobody had a clue what it was. Twin cam, intercooled turbo making 224hp bone stock. Same engine that was in the IROC R/T. Lots of fun with that car...

It's jacked up to keep the weight on the front wheels. You don't want weight transfer on a front wheel drive.

Watch out for Astro vans.....

There is a BIG following of dropping V8s in them. AWD V8 Astro van anyone? Been done, but still way cool.

Yes, he could drive. His was a 3.23 M6 car.

The only time I had my Spirit to the track was in '93. It was still bone stock and ran a 14.4@100. Car was a lot of fun but expensive to fix since Lotus ended up being GM and ChryCo got screwed over. My head cracked(pretty common) at 18K miles and it sat at the Dodge dealer for almost 6 months because nobody in the country had a head. Finally got one and the bill was almost $6K, $4K was just the bare head! Thankfully it was all covered under warranty.

At 80K, the head lifted and needed work. I had cranked up the boost and I guess 50K miles was too much for it. That cost me $2K to get fixed. Then I just turned back the boost to stock and sold it after it hit 100K miles.

Stock top speed was 141mph. I buried my 150 speedo after cranking up the boost to 15-16psi. Stock was 11psi.
