LB9 87 Trans Am vs 2009 Accord

Thought I'd post a quick story about a quick race tonight. My girlfriend, my best friend, and I decided to go out for some wings tonight. On the way home my girlfriend said she had to go to the bathroom really bad which to me meant "spirited driving". So as I am driving quickly down the road I see in my rearview a car coming up on me fast. I guess he noticed me and my traffic violations. As soon as he passes me, we get up to a light which turns red. I am in the right lane and he is in the left lane. Up ahead I would have to do a left turn so I knew I had to get in that lane. With my girlfriend's excuse, I knew I had to get in front of him. I gave a quick rev and he responded. I believe he also had a passenger (lady) with him. I did a quick cop check and as soon as the light turned green, I floored it and we both went at it. His tires chirp a bit and I immidiately cought traction and started pulling hard. A car length, then a car length and a half and 2 cars. At that time I had to get in the left lane to make my turn. So I put my blinker on, got in the left lane, then suicide lane and as I turned I gave him a quick thumbs up as he passed by and he responded with a quick rev. Honestly I didn't think my 305 TPI was going to do so well with 3 people in the car and all my tools and sound equipment (an additional 100lbs besides the passengers). So far I have the bolt on's in my sig and its untuned...
At first I didn't know what kind of car it was when it flew by at the beginning. It looked very similar to an Infinity G35 but saw the Honda emblem on the back and then read the "Accord". I looked up the car and it seems to be the newest 2009 model. The engine spec says the v6 DOHC with viiitec has about 271hp. My car came with about 210hp stock. I'm glad my car can still hold its own againts newer sportier coupes...

for an Accord, it is pretty quick. But no, I didn't have to spray at all...

The coupes with the V6 and manual trans can run in the 14.1 range stock - some even get into the high 13's with bolt ons. Not as fast as a 370Z, but much more stealthy.

Re: LB9 87 Trans Am vs 2009 Accord

yeah. I haven't been to the track lately but I'd like to since I feel my car is running a bit better (mechanically) and is faster since last time I went...

It oughta be sick when you get that thing turbo'd. How are the plans for that going?

Re: LB9 87 Trans Am vs 2009 Accord

Even if it wouldn't be naturally aspirated it would be fun to watch an LB9 burn 350's and all other 305 haters. I just can't figure what to do with mine. I might have to go with a power adder and a few bolt ons any other route seems too expensive.

I'm not too surprised. Those new Accords weigh about 4 million pounds.
