Re: 91 Maro vs. 07 Stang

The Camaro should run high 14`s to low 15`s.Unfortunately 1976 was probably the all time low for perfomance.Even though you do have the optional L82 it is only rated at 210hp.The performer intake is only a little better than stock and the 600 holley is actually smaller than stock. So you really have a stock 350 with exhaust.Assuming your motor made 240hp. and 300 lbs/ft tq.,with a a4/2.73 combo I think you are seriously out gunned by
even a stock 07 gt that should run high 13`s.Sorry just my opinion.

Could be both cars are owned by you and you want to know which is faster?

I say the Mustang, should go middle to lower 13s with some good driving.

Re: 91 Maro vs. 07 Stang

My buddy has an 07 gt. It dynoed 265 at the wheels and ran 13.8 at 102 if that helps. I rode in it, felt kind of slugish but I think it will own that 91 camaro.

Re: 91 Maro vs. 07 Stang

That was all hypothetical though. But the Mustang is stock that is just what we are planning to do to it. I raced him in my other Camaro;

1991 Camaro RS

-'91 - '93 L05 Caprice V8 (Junk)
-700 R4
-10 Bolt 2.73:1 non possi
-MSD 6A
-Flowmaster Muffler.

I had beat him by just a bumper. It was a really close race though and it was almost to close to call so I would say the '91 mentioned above is about the same as a stock '05-'09 Mustang. But my car I am building now the L82 one should be faster right?

I have been trying to get a hold of an LSX motor for my other '91 with the Caprice motor. As far as my Corvette motor car I am happy with the 350 I have in now because it is teaching me all about carburators. When I get some money together though I will be getting a cam and some heads andd 1.6 roller rockers.

Re: 91 Maro vs. 07 Stang

I had an 07 0r 08 gt run up on me one night at a stop sign.He must have seen my further back down the road cause I saw him coming up on me quick to get up with me.It seemed like a manual and Sounded like it had some exhaust work.First run he jumped me cause I got a little excited and gave it too much gas and spun too much.he realized it and let me get even with him.At about 20 he punched so i did.He barked 2nd hard and mine chirped.we stayed door to door till about 70 and had to slow down.I needed to shift into 3rd but my trans is screwed.Half the time my trans wont shift out of 2nd at WOT.Wish we had enough road for third gear and I could have got it to shift right cause when I can get it to shift into third it seems to really scoot, jumps hard.He may have pulled me further down the road with my bone stock tpi but I expected a little more out of him.He gave me a thumbs up when we went down seperate roads.Just glad I hung with him.

You stayed with him in an L05?

Gotta get my trans fixed, and finish porting my new intake.

Yes I stayed with him with my L05. My old mans Mustang and my Camaro are about the same right now.

Is that all you have done to the car.I just dont see an L05 with those few mods being a 13 sec car.The Mustangs should be about 300 hp.

No I raced my dads mustang when it was stock. Stock S197's run about 260 at the rear wheels. I have a 350 MSD ignition, Flowmaster Exhast, Mild Cam, etc. Also my car is a lot lighter as well.
