2008 BMW 328i/2007 SS trailblazes vs 87 iroc

A good friend of mine has both vehicles. We just recently caught back up with each other and started hanging out again.he started taliking about how his cars would beat mine.He remembers when I first bought the car and remembered it did have a 305.Hes actually the guy who got me into third gens years and years ago. After he talked his smack he tried to buy my car lol.

2008 328i sedan auto stock Inline 6 3.0 230 hp/200 tq
2007 TRAILBLAZER SS stock with no muffler(still sounds good) ls2 400 hp/400 tq(what he said)

My car
87 iroc 3500 lbs with driver.list of Mods in sig and vb garage.Trans is acting UP.
25,00 miles on engine.10.5:1 cr,New ZZ4 revised casting heads,Lt4 production cam with 1.6 full r.r.,new gmpp block and internals,2500 stall,3.42 gears,shift kit and vette servo,hooker 2460 headers into custom dual 2.5 y into 3" i pipe,afpr,msd digi 6,flowmaster muffler.Basicly stock tpi.255/50/16 rear bfg g-force,Best timeslip I can find was an 8.8 1/8th which was before gear,stall,header swap.Most were around 9 seconds all on street tires.

I know the bmw is about 2 or 3 hundred pounds lighter and the trailblazer is much heavier. His g tech was giving him around 10 second 1/8ths in both vehicles.Ive driven the car and its a quick car but with a good launch I think I got him.Not sure about the truck,i need to resaerch it.

I may put him off til I get my intake finished porting and get my new injectors in.

Are you still running the stock TPI? If so what chip tuning have you done?

Your combo is stout, but depending on the afore mentioned items your car could be a low 13 second car or a high 14 second car.

Sounds like you have a pretty good shot, however I have seen some of those new Trailblazers get down right nasty with almost nothing done to them. But if it's mostly stock I'd say you're still in good shape, IMO anyway.

Re: 2008 BMW 328i/2007 SS trailblazes vs 87 iroc

O TO 80 trailblazer SS= owned.Got a good launch and pulled him about 1 length.pulled a little more not quite two lengths maybe just 1.5 up to 80 he couldnt catch me.My trans is fubar and will not shift 2-3 at wot and slips to my rev limiter at around 80 mph so he did blow by me after that but thats all my car can do till i get my trans fixed.SO 1/8th mile was proved to my friend who said he would blow my doors off.after my trans gets fixed we will see 1/4 mile.
we didnt race his bmw but he didnt seem too interested after that.SO ATLEAST I GOT him for sure in 1ST AND 2ND gear.He was surprised and said that cars faster than i expected but he didnt listen when I tried to explain how much weight he was giving up.All he would say is i got 400hp.

He did just buy an 84 z28 and is now a member on here if he sees this im sure hell gimmie some crap, but anyway thats the results of one race.

Just so you know i thought i was going to have my new intake on by now but i havnt done it yet.guess i jumped the gun by changing my sig.So this was still a bone stock unported tpi intake.

Re: 2008 BMW 328i/2007 SS trailblazes vs 87 iroc

I already beat the SS up to 80mph where my trans slips at WOT.Had him by more than a length. In stock form theyre a low 14 second truck.80 mph is about my trap in the 1/8th.My 1/8th time calculates to about a 13.7 or so1/4 mile. That was also before some new mods so im hoping more like 13.5.They`re too heavy but yes,it is fast.

Get your dad to race you.If your car is in good tune I bet you it will be closer than you think.

Around here they're solid 13 second trucks. Then again we have good tracks and good air here.

Re: 2008 BMW 328i/2007 SS trailblazes vs 87 iroc

Thats what road and track/car and driver tested them at.14.2.I guess those are the retards, and the guy i raced.Never seen one at the track here.Maybe the difference is the driver.Even with 400 hp its hard to get a 4600 lb suv(without driver) in the 13.`s.Were not far from sea level here and this was on a chilly low humidity night.14.2 seems decenT for a heavy *** stock suv. With driver hes giving up about 1300 lbs.Thats one hell of an equalizer.

jUST SAW WHERE the 2008 went 13.9.Thats a year newer and prolly a better driver.Driver mod means alot.

Okay, here's my opinion on this without doing alot of research on the BMW but using your specs from above.

1.) You should be able to beat the BMW as long as your car is tuned & taken care of. It sounds like your car is running great.

2.) The Trailblazer is a cool looking, fast running SUV. However the SUV weighs in @ Curb Weight: 4356 lbs. Gross Weight: 5550 lbs.

I think you've got a good chance of winning.
