I mean honestly....are you worried about it?? What does the cavvy run.....17's at best. I wouldn't even worry about it, lol......what is it with guys that drive caviliers anyway, I have some older guy around here that thinks he can whoop up on mine......assclowns...

doesn't your avatar say you have a 305 tpi and a 400 horse 350.....if your so worried about it....take the 400 horse car.....

I wouldn't bother wasting my gas with that race...

Re: 2002? cavalier vs 1990 trans am

im not worried about it anymore. i just cant wait to shut him up cuz he talks about that f****** car every damn day it really pisses me off. i guess if i could cut off 4 cylinders it would be a closer race lol and i m going to race him in my '90 cuz its my daily driver the 350 is in my 86 parts car and its missing the front clip. but if it was on the road i wouldnt even bother with the cavalier. it would have to be something like an lt1 ir ls1. lol

ecotec j-bodies run 15s not 17s. my old 05' Sunfire ran a 15.8 at 88mph with a crappy 2.4 60ft. if i had any talent at launching FWD, it wouldve been a low 15 sec pass with that mph

thats not fast by any means, but a stock auto LB9 isnt much faster

I'm at 3000 plus feet, up here they run 17's......anyway, still shouldn't be a race.

A 305 TPI should still be fast enough to beat a 2.2L Cavalier. As long as it is in good tune I wouldn't worry about it. A few basic bolt-ons would help, but I doubt you'll need them.

Jeebus. About 10 years ago my stock v6 3rd gen beat a Cav from a roll. Started about 50 and had several car lengths by 100.
This race was never in doubt.

sure it was an ecotec Cav? my stock ecotec Sunfire was a easy 15 sec car and a stock thirdgen V6 is a 18/17 sec car. no way a stock V6 bird would put lengths on one from a roll

you probably raced the old OHV 2.2 Jbody. theyre ungodly slow. the ecotec version is a whole different car

Re: 2002? cavalier vs 1990 trans am

I ran my cavy for fun at our 1/4 mile track and on a set of winters...This was all for shits and giggles (I raced my buddy's Z71 pickup) and i ran a 17.1 with a slipping tranny. I have seen ecotecs run and they run 16.3ish they are only a smidge faster than my cavy and mine is not fast...

haha omg a cavalier? your co worker had no chance in the first place. read a few of the comments here, and i think i smell some ppl with doubts on the 305 tpi???????? COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a 2.2 vs a small block? 305 arent the greatest but come on, they got power behind them that can beat out cars.
