i just came out of the fast and the furrious. my friend has this silverado that he is trying to make a sports truck...but he also has 300lbs of tool box and lader hangers.... but he put dual exaust and he thinks his car is the sh** so we raced on a wide open road... and i punch it an he was nothing but 1 little blurry hyper blue light in my rear view... i got it up t 125-130...then went back the othe way 2 hours later going 90 and a cop pull me over the speed limit was 50... i had a pba card but my dad forgot to put the insurance card in the glove box... so i was fined 44.50 for failure to submitt papers.... got out of that one

When I had the 85MPH in my car I would peg it off the trip reset button all the time. I finally got a 140MPH speedo in the car and first night out, got the needle to go to about 135-140MPH. I just wanted to make sure the speedo worked

105 in a 87 camaro with a 2.8 and 700R4. took about 5 minutes to get there. it handled fine, but that was before i sorta bent the body in an accident i had a couple of months ago. a little advice for everyone: dont get forced off the road up onto a couple of boulders doin 35. your car wont appreciate it. but i just bought a new project car. 85 trans am with a 5 speed. im putting a vette 350 in over the winter, im curious to see how fast that will go!

That's not cool. That's not even funny. You should have your license taken away and you shouldn't ever be allowed to drive again. That's just plain crazy--no consideration for people in other cars; no consideration for yourself. Absolutely crazy. Have you noticed how most all of these replies include 12, 1, 2 in the morning? Personally, I think it's rediculous to go that fast on the street under any condition.

I just hope you don't hurt someone while you drive. I really hope that you go speeding past some cops at your retarded street speeds. I hope they take you out of your car, actually shove your key up your butt, and beat you senseless. You obviously haven't learned that you are dangerous and you need to have that fact revealed to you. You disgust me. And I'm 18 if anyone wants to know.

If you're not at the track, do like the one guy was saying--get your kicks out of acceleration, but forget about the high speeds. Also, there are obviously places you can safely run at speed on highways, but it really is insane to do it if there are other people around. Even if you say you can handle it (which is not at all true in most cases, a lot of people are really bad drivers and most people don't really care about cars or driving. What do you do when someone screws up when you're going at these hyperlegal speeds?)

Well, I had my 84 up to...i would guesstimate about 95-100. 85mph speedometer and it was past 85. A LOT different than my "daily driver", which is a '98 Ford Escort SE. I miss my Camaro. Had to park it until I fix the exhaust leak and a few other minor things. Solid as a rock, unlike my 'scort which shakes like jell-o at 85+.

Gotta call BS here... my friend has a GT and the tripmeter is in the way... no way you could get the needle to do that. They will do about 145 though.

I had mine to 120 racing my friends 87 vette, an integra, a CBR600, and a CBR900 all 4 at once down I-30! The end result was 1st: The CBR900, doing 160, 2nd:, the CBR600, doing about 150, 3rd: My friends vette right behind the 600, 4th: Me, topping out at about 120, and 5th: the integra, NOWHERE in sight, screaming along at a whopping 90mph (speed limiter :P). When we were done racing ,we had to pull over and let the integra catch up... :>

My only regret about doing 120 is that the car wouldnt go faster! It did not float at all and handled great.

The law enforcement calibrated speedo in my 1992 B4C only goes to 145 but the un-numbered mark before it is obviously 140 and the un-numbered mark after it is 150. i went just a tad past that 150 mark or as i see it 151 mph with nothing other than an air foil and k&n's. i must tell you that at that speed it is not smooth, after about 130 the vibrations of the stock driveshaft and moderately worn stock eagles is uncomfortable to say the least at 151 i had the engine at redline with the pedal flatfooted (copcar TV valve in the trans prevents high speed downshift). the most notable thing is the wind noise, at that speed it was so loud that if i were to scream in the car you would not here me if you were seated next to me.
