im not sure what they run, but they have 4 cylinders, and i dont think any other engine is optional. the ground effects package may make them look fast, but theyre not hard to beat.

Extreme's can be had with any combo of engines, they just couldn't have 4 wheel drive.

2.2 with auto or 5-speed
4.3 with auto or 5-speed

The 2.2 has 120hp, and the auto 4.3 has 180 / 5-speed has 170

Extreme's are also heavier than a regular S-10

Stock a 2.2 should run very high 17's

Stock 4.3 should be able to run high 15's low 16's

It also matters if it is regular cab or extended cab too.

i beat a 4 cylinder version with my 78 chevy van. it was converted to hippie style by my dad and weighs about 6000 pounds. the 350 is so tired that it barely makes enough vacuum to shift the th350 tranny. it also has a 3.08 gear. needless to say, my van is extremely slow, but the S10 extreme with 2.2 and 4 speed auto was even sloweR! :sillylol:

I think you must have killed a four cylinder, no S-10 since 1993 had any engine badges. Only badges on them are SS, LS, SLS, and Extreme.

Sorry..they are heavy.I have a 2000 Xtreme 2.2 5 speed I drive daily, and it weights in at 3546 with half tank and me in it(150).That is regular cab short bed truck.I laugh when I see anyone trying to race me in my truck cause it looks fast, you need to get a life and look for a real car to race, these things are slower than ****,but I do love how it handles.I usually get their plate number and hunt them down with my Z another night,"ok Billy Bad ***,now show me what ya got"!If you are wasting your time racing Xtreme's,your wasting gas man,go pick on someone your size.Let them have their fun thinkin they got ya and at the next light give them the "Your Cool" thumbs up,that always pisses people off.

My 1995 SS is a little slimmer than the fully cladded Extreme's. I am sure this will offend people but I don't think the Extreme's look fast at all. I don't even think they look cool anymore. They were kinda neat when two people in town had one but now it seems as if everyone has one.

Compared to my Z which weighs in at 3123 with half tank,3273 including me,my truck is heavy. As far as the Xtreme's looking fast or not,and who like them or not,to each their own on what appeals to you.Yes everyone has them because they are cheap, exactly why I bought mine.Would you rather see 10 more imports rolling around, instead of S10's?

My Best friend has a 2000 4.3 vortec 5spd s10 xtreme. It is also extended cab and I think it has 3.73 gears stock. He but a full gibson exhaust and a K&N intake on it so far, but has plans for more power later (blower, headers, and other stuff). I think 170hp is way under-rated, more like 190 stock and he probably has about 200 now. Heavy as hell but it gets him sooooo many chicks its freakin unbelievable. HOT girls drive by and do double-takes while they mouth: "oooooh". It pisses me off. That little....grrrr. Even with a large box in the extended cab part, it is not slow. He's beaten many, many ricers sometimes with my large self in the passenger seat (my car was not on the road). But definitely more show than go, and he knows he can't beat a real car like mine. It's a fun truck. How much would this truck weigh as described? we've been trying to estimate that for a while now, remember it's extended cab.

If you beat one in your 3.1 it was a 4 cylinder.
