Accel ProFlow Air Cleaner...

Has anybody tried this out yet?
I bought one today to see how it works.
I took it apart(it comes apart, I didn't wreck it) and its actually a pretty good design, it's a dual foam element that you oil just like a K&N. They even give you the oil.
We'll see how she works.
It was a bit of a quest to get it to fit in my 14" air cleaner tray though.

I'm still not sure if I trust the foam for trapping smaller particles. I might switch to the Holley (blue) filter next year if I can sell off my K&N filters.

In theory the foam filters are better than the cotton gauze filters. K&N's flow great when they are clean and new but after they start to load up they don't flow very well. The cotton also swells when it's hot and humid out. The foam filters are a surface trap design that still flows well when it's dirty. They also don't swell.

Dave, those are what I was telling you about last weekend Was it cheap? They are only like $15 down here for the Accel filters.

I haven't tried one of those filter's yet but the idea is good and I know from my experience with my motocross bikes that properly maintained wet oil filters work extremely well (on a high strung 2 stroke motorcycle any contaminant's that make it past your filter generally do instant damage)..............SR

I think one of the other problems is that most people over oil their K&N's when they re-oil them. Myself included.

ys, I'll tell you my only worry about foam filters. If you forget about it and it dries up, you start getting chunks of the foam getting sucked into the engine. This filter comes with a removadle steel wire frame on the inside to give the foam it's shape and prevent this breakdown from happening.

Paul, it cost me something like $25 at Crappy Tire, alot cheaper than the $60 K&N. Anyways we'll see how it works.
