My Poem

The Winter Blues
by Copperchick

I parked my Camaro
In the underground lot
It sits in the darkness
Of my parking spot
The dust is collecting
Much to my dismay
Which leaves me just one thing
And one only to say:

I got the winter blues
Oh yeah the winter blues
I’d rather be racing
But instead I got the winter blues

I’m scraping the windshield
Of my winter car
And adding de-icer
Just so it will start
Mittens in the glovebox
Scraper on the floor
Oh Lord I just don’t think
I can take anymore

I got the winter blues
Oh yeah the winter blues
I’d rather be cruising
But instead I got the winter blues

I long for the rumble
Of V8 exhaust
Instead I get nose hairs
All covered in frost
There’s salt on the highway
There’s ice on the lane
But thoughts of the summer
Are what’s keeping me sane

I got the winter blues
Oh yeah the winter blues
Still 4 months ‘til springtime
And I got the winter blues

Be easy to fit that to a 12 bar blues progression - although you can fit just about anything to 12 bars.

Not that it matters but some friends of mine lived in that apartment building where you're car's parked - I recognize the wall.

Um..that's not a wall. You're right about the poem. I kinda wrote it with a Bad to the Bone kinda guitar in mind.

Well then I believe that I recognize that structure if it's in Kitchener or Waterloo but nothing turns on it one way or the other and I don't propose to debate the matter any further.

Great Poem! Winter sucks! I have my garage set up like a rec-room of sorts...it helps me get through the ugliness. (it is heated...fridge, tv, stereo, computer.)
