| To all on here I know this has been brought up in the past, but just wondering who would be up for a huge meet. From the word Ottawa way, I know that many have expressed interest. I (and most OT way) would be up for a meet half way. The majorities seem to be Ottawa and Toronto residents. Bellville is minutes away from Shannonville dragstrip. We could make a Sat/Sun out of it, with those choosing 1, 2nd, or both days. Bellville has many hotels/restaurants,etc. I know it's hard to plan something like that, but if everyone has input "in pencil" it would be closer to a reality. I know there's alot a nice rides across the province (and around) I would be up for something late June or after. Any thoughts out there? Lets see if this can actually happen.

Car: 83WS6TA Engine: ZZ4 Transmission: TH350C Axle/Gears: 3:23 | Just to let some of you know - the British Car Club is holding lap days on May 15 and 16 at Shannonville. Some people in the Ottawa area had mentioned doing something like this at Shannonville last year. |

Car: 83WS6TA Engine: ZZ4 Transmission: TH350C Axle/Gears: 3:23 | The last lap day i did at mosport this April was 100 for the day. The British Car Club at SMP is 195 for the day or 295 for both days.
I've found that a lot of clubs have these at the beginning of the year and they're usually about 100-150 which is not bad IMO. Usually you don't have to be a member either it's just like 15-20 more for non-members.
I think 195 is getting a bit expensive but still worth it if you're only doing a few a year. |

George, how do the factory brakes hold up at an event like that? |

I've done 3 events with a set of crap tyre pads on a J65 set up and there's still lots of material left on them. The track layouts have all been such that my car only gets up to about 60-70 mph before braking for the next corner although at the Mosport DDT track there's a lot of elevation changes which make the brakes work harder.
They don't stop the car all that great though and I think if you were frequently braking from 100 mph or so the brakes would be cooked. Next Mosport event they're supposed to be using the full parimeter configuration which results in longer straights - so I guess I'll find out how bad they really are. |

| I'm not sure how many on here would push their cars around a road coarse, would be something to try though. But there is a dragstrip down the back straight at Shannonville. Most would use that I'm sure. And it is 1/4 mile. But just to meet as many on here in one spot would be another huge thing to accomplish.
- Paul, I was thinking late June or later on, July and after or something. Gives time for everyone to get on the same page and make proper arrangements. I'dd like to see you there with the Zed running, and I'm pretty sure everybody else would love to see that car.

I've been doing a little bit each day or so. I'm still trying to figure out what i'm going to need at the stealership. I'm gonna be ordering alot of SPO **** |

Car: 86 IROC Engine: LT1 Transmission: T56 Axle/Gears: 4.11 9-Bolt | I'd be up for something as well, even just a drag day at Shannonville.
I am planning right now on heading to the Southern Ontario GM Nationals, on Sunday August 22. They have a drag day on Saturday, and a car show Sunday. |

This is a start. What about everyone else. Toronto? Waterloo crowd? the rest of Ottawa? Everywhere else that is in the area and abroad interested. Now that we are finally getting something moving, lets get some ideas for dates and other general ideas so we can start to get this off the ground a little. |

Car: 86 IROC Engine: LT1 Transmission: T56 Axle/Gears: 4.11 9-Bolt | I vote for a drag day at Shannonville. Anyone know the details for the test and tunes? It appears from the web-site that you can only get on the track for a few hours at best.
Luskville is crappy.
All the TO tracks are on the far side from Ottawa, a pretty far drive for a drag day.
Stittsville (in Ottawa) is only an 1/8th mile, but could be an option for a friday night. |

I am 100% for a drag day at Shannonville. Maybe a cruise night? They still have them there don't they??? Luskville is rough, anyone coming from TO would think very little of that place. And as for Stittsville, I hope to get out, even to just watch, alot this summer.

| I think that I can make it, depending on the date. I am tryijng to make it out more to the events this year. We will be bringing the 1990 GTA and if all goes well, we might be able to bring the 1987 TA as well. |

| I'm thinking July maybe. As long as I have some notice for work, I should be fine with "most" dates. To be fair to the ones on here wrenching to get their rides on the road - Paul, 91wtROH17's - what kind of timeline, realistic thinking, is good for you guys? Set a date after that. The more the merrier. |

with that said i will not be the one to make the date . i have the hole month off and can make any weekend |

| I'm good for the most part too, (just let work know ahead of time) maybe let Paul, 91wtROH17's, 6speedIroc, and anyone else ify about July dates all get a date most agree on. I agree with Trigger's statement, and I too don't want to pick a date and have people wishing it was another. Once we check Shannonville's schedule, cruise nights and such, it will have a bigger impact on which date to set. |

| I've contacted Shannonville, they have cruises for the track, but it's an oval or something. It's 5 laps for $20. May 24, June 21, July 26, Aug 23. They're going to get back to me on the dragstrip, that's what I was looking for. |

| Well, I just talked to staff at Shannonville. They do have some cruise nights for the dragstrip. It's $20 Car&Driver, and $5 for spectators. The dates are unfortunately all FRIDAY nights, June 18, July 9, Aug 13, Sept 17, & Oct 8. They run 6pm-11pm. It's only about a 2 hour drive (give or take) from either Ottawa or Toronto. And if you wanted to drive home the next day, (or make a 2 day meet) there are lots of hotels in the area (Belleville). I could get off work early if I give some notice I'm sure. If all are still interested, I guess we could make it July 9, with either a second choice, or rain date Aug 13. The dates are kind of limited, but it narrows things down for everyone. Any thoughts???? |
