Question???

Can anybody tell me what a 87 Firebird WS6 5 spd. with 170K in good condition is worth? I know it is a tough question but I just need a good ball park figure. I don't want to over pay. Thanks, Tom

I'd say in the 3-4 range, depending on condition.

Thats only if it can be proven that it's a WS6 car, other wise they're not much going for it. No formula, or T/A status, is it TBI,TPI?

Just my $.02

Yes, it is a T/A 305 TPI supposedly with the WS6 package. It has posi and he says a 411 rear end.

Well! I just saw the car. It has a lot of issues that don't show up in the pics of it. Put it this way, "It was good from far but far from good." Rust bubbles on "A" pillars, drivers side t-roof and drivers door lock, bottom of doors, hood. I didn't even look underneath or take it for a drive. I did start it up 183,000 KM. but it sounded strong. Oh yeah! Cracked windshield. I told him maybe !,000 but I have to think about it. Ton of work!

Well, if it had 4.11, when you take it for a drive, in the 1:1 tranny ratio, at 70mph(I think) you should be at 4110rpm.

Help w 87 rear

I just purchased an 87 firebird, and the rear is noisy. It spins the tires really easily, especially in the rain. I would like to install a limited slip/posi rear for daily driving. The car is completely stock. 305 4BBL, 5SP Manual Trans.
Any recommendations for a diff kit, that isn't too expensive?
Thanks,
