Who went to Performance World??

What the heck? I paid 18 bucks to get into that stupid show only to find out thats there's only ONE third gen f-body in the whole show! And it wasn't anything special either! Just a plain green vert camaro! I saw about ten mustangs from our years, what happened??? I went two years ago and there was two I think, (one was a really nice blue camaro) so I thought well theres going to be more this year for sure. I mean supposedly the "third gen camaro and bird are the most popular cars to restore right now" what a bunch of crap. I thought geez good thing I don't own a bird or I'd be really mad! Sorry just had to rant.

I was there. Ya, 1 thirdgen. But that's okay, not a biggy for me to not see many.

Loved the Cuda's. Just awesome cars!

Re: Who went to Performance World??

the show wasnt that good.

Specially the old cars....1920ish...boy they sucked.

And with me being in the import scene, all i seen was the same boring cars that i see at every show.

Re: Who went to Performance World??

There were 4 large main sections (buildings). Three of the buildings were dedicated to the domestics, the 4rth building imports.

Here's some things I remember from the show.....

We got discount flyers off the website. $3 off till Sat March 11th it said. Well actually the 11th was a Sunday. We presented the coupons at the gate but they still charged us full pop stating it was an error on their part (but they still didn't honour $3 off those tightwads).

So we get in. Lots of vendors selling trinkets and a nice selection of domestics generally from the mid 60's to late '60's.

I believe it was Toronto and or Ontario F-Body's representing the 3rd gens with a small display (of 3 F-Body's).

There was an exact replica of a "Mad Max" Holden which just kicked a*s.

Speaking of a*s, there was plenty of it at the "import" section. In fact, there was a booth selling "Got A*s?" t-shirts. 3 girls (must of been strippers) shaking their booties for all the guys to see. Awesome a*s show. A crowd of guys taking movies and still pics.

Then I got hungry and paid $12 for 2 small pieces of pepparoni pizza and a coke from the Pizza Pizza stand.

Judging the $ value of the showcars, I would guess the domestics average was @ 80,000 a piece (average). The domestics, @ $20,000 (average).

All in all not a bad show, but typical.

The Hemi Cuda's stole the show (imo).

Re: Who went to Performance World??

Yeah I went with my one son and hung out at the OCC display for a while to help them out, I am a member. It has been at leat 5 or 6 years since I have been and it will probably be another 5 or 6 before I go again. Not that exciting. The only good thing was they stuck the ricers way in the back so I didn't have to listen to their Kia and look at their pos cars. girls were nice and skanky though....

What is the world coming to when I am glad I did NOT go to a show.

Sound like its becoming what Speedorama used to be like.

Re: Who went to Performance World??

I was just thinking about when the show is this year.

I'd like to go, but to be honest it's not really worth the $18 a ticket (imo).

Re: Who went to Performance World??

Also, speedorama is next month (Feb 8-10) at the automotive building. Rumor has it that this will be the LAST show at the automotive building as they are planning to tear it down........
