buying camaro, need advice

getting an amazing deal, only a few problems with the car, its an 84 camaro:

1. passanger side window dosnt go down
2. small oil leak, the guy says where the dipstick goes into the motor, the rubber whore off, is this common, or can it be somthing else
3. there is a leak in the firewall, and it leaks onto the floor, looks like im going to have to pop the dash out and fix it,

just wondering if these are common problems with the older 3rd gen camaro's and if it isnt to hard to fix these problems, thank you for reading!

Re: buying camaro, need advice

Well brow....

I have a 87 IROC....

The window....can be many things....broken wire, the button bad, motor bad, the tracks that slide the glass are bad....but I don't think is a big deal.

The Leak can be many things like a gasket, etc....some of than easy to change others not that easy.....

Just for I understand oil inside the car floor? are u sure? Unless your oil gage it's not eletric use a hose to mesure de pression.....

I don't see anything important there......

Check for rust under the car specially under the plastic on the fenders.....

T-tops leaks (the rubber is not cheap!!!)

The basic of buying a car....

for the firewall, water gets through not oil, also its not a t-top and all the rubber has been replaced recently

do you think liquid metal could fix the leaks, thanks

Wet floor usually means heater core leak

Re: buying camaro, need advice

I was going to say heater core as well.

Took me a little over an hour to change the core and hoses on my TA. The dash didn't have to come out on mine anyway.

Core doesn't cost much from CT and the hoses are cheap too.
