I tried posting about this a while ago but didn't get an answer, so I figured I'll try again.

My climate controls are stuck on defrost, and so I'm trying to find where the problem is.

How strong should the vacuum in the climate control lines be? At idle, I can't even feel the vacuum if i stick my finger on the end of the line. At about 3000 rpm, I can feel it very lightly.

Where does the vacuum come from on the engine? Is it the connection right under the throttle body? I stuck my finger on there but it doesn't seem to be sucking too hard from there either.

God I hate vacuum lines...

On my 83 there is a little black bottle that is a vacuum a vacuum reservers (SP). Mine had a hole in it so I got no vacuum at the heater control. I bypassed the bottle and then discovered that the controller to control were the heat was to be deflected to was not seated properly and was leaking vacuuum. Basically look for vacuum lines going thought the firewall, look from the inside or the outside. I used a vacuum pump to help find my leak.
