Im looking into getting a stall converter for my 700r4 30 spline.
What stall can is recommended for a stock setup with minor addons (Performance prom, headers, underdrive pulley)?
Im reading on the forum to stay away from B&M and TCI, has anyone used their stalls and had problems?
When I change the stall converter do I need to change the flexplate as well?

just put in a converter from vette or S10..I forgot the part number but its the latest vette or S10 with a 700R4

You shouldn't need to change the flex plate, unless its cracked or the teeth are all chipped up. The last time I had a trans done in my 350 TBI truck, they put in a 1700 or 1800 stall. If it were me, I might talk to a tranny shop or performance shop...if you have any around that you trust.

Finding one from a Corvette or s10 will cost little less than buying a new one, looked into it.
Where is the torque band start on these cars, around the 2200 rpm?
As for transmission shops, I dont know any to trust around here.

The stall will depend on how much power your motor is making.Knowing that is the looser than converters from other cars.You can add converters from 91-96 Caprice/Roadmaster as well..They are rated at 2200 RPM but you can get a shop to maximize the stall..I had one behind a 383 and it stalls at 3000 RPM for me.Since its a fullsize converter its still great on the street.It wont be as efficient as a smaller converter at 2500+ stall though.
