ya I have a used set of trick flows sitting on the garage floor, they werent a bad head, defenetly better then the edelbrock and such, they would defenetly be my number 2 choice
I Picked up my first set of trickflow twisted Heads back in 93/94. sent them to AFR to be gone over. ran fantastic...only ran them for 7 years. . now that the car has been sitting for the last 7 years..im having them gone over and new springs installed for the Cam (mech roller).. they did every thing i wanted them to.. but mine are the 18/23.. and opend up even more by AFR...
Ya i like them..
TOOK IT OUT OF IT'S BOX AND KNOCKED THE DUST OFF IT!

SO for the mighty 305 with the ZZ4 cam. Should "The Project" run the TFS or the AFR's?? Bear in mind compression loss with the AFR's.
305 has wrong bore size.
if I was keeping the 305 (which I have done before on previous cars) the lesson I have learned is don't do heads, put money to a Procharger instead. Make sure the air flow in and out is excellent and make sure you have a decent cam.
There are 6,876,213 posts telling you the 305 is the wrong motor to build. do a 350 instead. Guess I am number 6,876,214...

naturally I have to ask -- how much for the used heads?

Even thoguh i'd suggest building a 383 or bigger (350's are for chicks) just kidding
If your stuck on a 305, trick flow does make a specific 305 head, were as the AFR's are for 350's and up, the valves are too big on the AFR's for a 305 with the lift of a zz4 cam. AFR used to make a 305 head, but its been long discontinued

NFS, sorry, not sure what I'll use them on, but no sence loosing $ on them when they are still a good head
They ran 12's N/A bolted on a 406ci in a Monty Carlo with a Magnum 292 cam, so as I said, not bad heads by any means, I just find/like the AFR's much better
