Covered this in the "Winter withdrawl" topic, and made a moderately humourous comment to boot (well, maybe a BIT funny). My vehicular love extends through all seasons...my first rear-wheel Christmas, can't wait for the fun...

Personal mods to come mid-spring.
Hey all... my GTA is away for the winter, and while its away, its getting some mods and detailing done.
My winter beater, 1988 Grand AM SE 2.3L Quad4 5 Speed Getrag. Raced a 1991 Civic, and a 1991 TEmpest 3.1L.... beat them both Its a fun car. The 5 speed is fun.

Custom 3" Stainless Exhaust Y-Pipe back (High flow Cat and Flowmaster Mufler)
My 383 IROC is in storage now too! Bah!
I luv my car but it is going thru a massive system installation... I have 4 Rockford Power 15 inch subs, and 4 Rockford BD1000's to install... This system is gunna be crazy! I cant wait... Im driving mommy and daddys Saturn for now! LMAO! But in a week, will be driving a nice 1987 K Car! LMFAO! I have a window sticker on it that says THA WINTA BEATA! So u know its me if u see it!
I'm still driving my GTA. I can't beleive the frickin weather! it's great! it's 15 degrees out there and it's December! I'm going to keep my car on the road until the first salting of the roads, then I'm going to bring out the king of all winter beaters...wait....wait...ready....1985 Buick Century T-type (hahahahaha) 4 door! funny thing is, this car can haul some *** for a winter beater. It's funny because it has the same 3.8L used in the Grand Nationals (minus the turbo of course), it's actually kinda fun driving it.
Hey whasup board...I am new to Ontario Board ( but I have been posting on the others).. my Iroc has been put away since October ..but I am going through V8 withdrawal!!! hehe. My winter beater is a 1990 GMC S15 pickup.. short box, standard steering, standard brakes, 2.5L 4 cyl!! YEAHHH!! hehe.. can't wait for the spring.. that is when the funs starts...I am collecting go fast goodies and bits and pieces over the winter... too bad the place I have it stored is not mine... Hopefully next winter I will have a place of my own so I can "tinker" with my car.

Well, the Iroc was put away in September and is getting a full transformation. New engine new paint and a hell of a lot of horsepower!
Come spring we can all share in the event of me blowing up my T5!!
Since Sept. I've been rodding out the whopping 98 hp 1988 Ford Tempo.
Thanks for the compliment Azure you have a sharp looking ride yourself...but its all the picture .. the paint is bad (I blame it on the previous owner who slapped a half a$$ job on it ).. it's acrylic enamel and full of "fish eyes".. this spring I will be getting it painted "right". I am also going with a color change. Artic White, no stripes, just the door emblems. I like the blue but I like white muuuch more .. can't wait!!! ARRGGGHHH I hate snow!! Is it spring yet?? hehe

can i give you a piece of advice. color swapping is a real bad idea. unless you plan on taking the engine out and stripping the interior youll have that blue showing up every where from opening the trunk, the hatch, pulling back your weather stripping, taking your t tops off, doors etc.i tried changing my 82 red t/a from red to black. what a nightmare. never again. besides that blue in my opinion is a awsome color on that car. that color is becoming more and more desirable these days.its one of my favourites for that type of car.i work in the weld shop at toyota and i see repairs coming from the paint shop and for those that have never been in such a place the car is butt naked before it gets painted.bare metal and nothing else.just my 2 cents worth Steve

I know that a color change is a huge paint in the a$$ but I have a very good painter... he said for $1200 he would change the color for me completely. He has done other work for me (including a color change) and he is very detailed. Being a 3rd Gen owner himself (and a 91 vette 'vert) he takes great pride in his work.
Now I know he isn't pulling the engine but that don't matter because I am painting the entire engine bay black ( one side of the engine bay is black now due to a front end collision which ended up having to replace the driver's side fender and front nose cone).
Maybe in the future I will pull the engine and restore the car to it's original Medium Maui Blue but that won't be for a long time to come

Hello felow Thirdgen owners, my name is Regi.Im new to this board, and recently I just bought my first car which happens to be a 1986 white T/a.I paid exactly 1grand for the car as is cause I i just had to have it.Wasnt in too bad of shape, minor rust on the body, and a crack in the driver skirt, and besides the fact that the 305 engine had just about 245k lol but started and ran fairly well.I guess you all know the feeling when you buy your car and your driving it home happy as ever never wanting to turn the damn thing off.Well where is my car now you ask, in my driveway awaiting a new heater core and new disc brakes all way around. And as for winter if we had anything to worry about as far as snow, I would use my feet and the good old TTC as winter beaters, great choice huh.My car is completly stock, and being an apprentice for Canadian Tire mods will be soon underway, plus I have major plans for my audio as well, Im a former employee at an audio shop called Chase Custom Car Audio and I will be dropping in sometoys like dvd,2 Vega 12 inch subs, USA amps which will basically make me bankrupt. But before all that goes in why not fix up the engine,no sense adding sound if the car doesnt drive right, so Im moving in stages, starting with my exterio being painted in 2 weeks, then i want to make the most out of my 305 and have the look of a smooth sleeper with some kick.Well thats my long *** story,I tend to go over board when it comes to talking about cars, hope you guys have a good Xmas and New Year and hopefully see ya on the streets running circles around those civics

REGI! It's Joey, remember I did work at Chase too. My bro is the guy with the Blue Tiburon. So did Wally hook you up with the Car? I remembered that you were supposed to get it around the second show. But I never saw you again. Anyways, welcome to the board man.
-Joey-
Hey man sup.Actually Wally didnt hook me up,that T/a he recommended was for 3 grand and it was an 84 which I didnt want.Even though I didnt get a GTA I got a T/a which doesnt look too bad.But I see you also have a thirdgen on your hands,we gotta hook up and cruiz or somethin.Im still in the works of actually making my car legal to drive on the streets cause I havent got insurance on it yet,and I already got caught without it so Im kissing my license goodbye or one damn heafty fine lol.Anyway Im going to Chase tomorrow to see if I can get some new fog lights installed, naturally Im already sportin the web link on my car, just feels wrong not to drive my car and not have the " WWW.CHASE-AUDIO.COM" on my windshield. Also Phil has an extra spoiler and Im gonna swap the wrap around for the earlier style before my car is painted and then I need new rotors bad, they are worn passed the limit and leaks brake fluid a lil.Its a project car non the less so Im not upset about the minor things that are wrong.Well I should be on here for awhile email me anytime, dont know if ya got any messengers on you but I do have AOL,Yahoo, and MSn if ya want to chat.Later

Actually the thirdgen is no more. I'm lookin into this 88 Z28 tho. I like the `maro's a bit more. . I had an 82 `maro with the amazing IRON DUKE 4Cyl. I ran that for a while, and decided to sell it just a little while ago. $500 and drove it with the 10 day permit for like 4 months. Then she was sold to an older guy who wanted it for parts. I'm cruzin in an 89 S-10 for now. But by March, I should have around $6500-$7500 at my dispense. Maybe even enough to get a 92 Z28 and sell the s-10. I've even got the model car that you can throw on your dash or air cleaner at a show to make the judges smile. Anyways, if u wanna talk, just add me to msn. Knightrulz@hotmail.com
Peace.
Welcome to the land of you in my REARVIEW.
My Camaro is also out for the winter. And im already learning why this car is so bad to drive in the winter. You just slide and slide.. and yah.. slide somemore. But I did get new tires just before winter struck. But I do have a beater also. My 1986 Buick Lesabre..but that already died ages ago. The tranny is busted huge on that car. So im stuck driving my Camaro for the winter. But by spring im fixing it all up and getting a new paint job.
Anyways
Cya
91 Suzuki swift as a "winter beater" the car has been in the family since new, and is a great runner! I have had it the last 4 years and other than exhaust and a new alternator and Clutch (only replaced 2 months ago) what a car, but I still prefer the camaro during the summer!
91 suzuki swift, 4-door sedan
68 hp, and bone stock (like what are you going to do to a sewing machine like that!)
5-spd
240,000Km
and can still do 160-170 but with a white knuckle grip on the steering wheel!
