I am just going to stay one night.... Im bringin about a dozen broads with me.... I have a few friends driving up with me... They own a 95 Convertible TA, 1993 Beretta GTZ, slammed Mazda B2000 pickup, and a 96 Pimped out Lincoln Towncar... We'll be heading up together but will only be staying one night.. We'll try to arrive as early as possible, than stay the night and leave the next day.. Hopefully we wont get lost...
I ran into the Motorplex guys at the Detroit Autorama... and they need to know what days we're looking at... and if we're talking overnight or not. They said that on any other week-end they would set up a class just for us. They will be running modified street, so I think just about everyone fits in there.
They said if some of us show up early we can get our own pit area as well. I will let you know as soon as I have more details.
I'm still undecided...I really want to go but due to a recent decision to buy a house this summer, I really gotta watch my money situation. When is the latest we can buy tickets or whatever? If anything, I'm pretty sure I can make it down for a day trip.

so far it is just me and you for the whole weekend johnny if we have a pit that means we are close to the track and get a good spot to watch and a better chance of getting more races in right?
Originally posted by gmanuel I will be down for only one day. Which day is the best?
Saturdays at the track are usually a little less crowded, less formal. More room and time to move around and check things out. I'd expect to get more runs in on Saturday as well.
Originally posted by trigger GTA what day can we race or is it every day?
Always Saturday and Sunday as long as it is not raining and/or the track is dry.
I've never been to GB Motorplex but can say that all other tracks I have been to charge an entry/gate fee and a race fee if you want to use the track rather than just spectate. This is pretty common practice so I am sure you can count on it at GB as well.
You will have to pay an entry fee for each day -- usually there is a weekend pass that shaves a few bucks off.
The entry fees are usually under $20 for minor or non event weekends and the race fees are usually under $30 per day. During Sponsored events -- the ones that attract the faster cars -- expect the price to go up. I paid $40 USD once to get into SIR (Seattle Int'l Raceway) to watch sub 5 second cars. Real ground pounders, worth every penny paid to watch.
So is this just a fun weekend for all of us or is there some other things going on. I would like to go but will only be able to make it up there on sat and stay till sun.
I only have about a 2 hour drive, but i would like to get a bunch of runs.
I'd like to see what my new mods have accomplished and if it needs some tuning. Please tell me all you can, I have went there before and test and tune is usually 25 dollars but i dont know what camping is for one night.
I have some friends that would go as well. please give me more info is you can
This sounds like a good and fun outing

Im hoping i can make it for one of the days anyway. Im just from near woodstock so its not much of a drive.
We'll have to see if i can afford to get it on the road this year and how good its running. School eats time and money
383 smoka, it has the newer spoiler as the previous owener replaced it after the old one had been cracked up. I personally like the look of it better, and would some day like to put on some of the newer side ground effects.
