I have two layers of limo all the way around.... I'm pretty sure mine's not legal in any province or state.

Any tint other than the factory tint is in fact illegal in Ontario. Unless you have 5% all-round or the cop feels like he's need an excuse for giving you a ticket, most police will turn a blind eye too it. I've heard some shops will not do anything less than a certain percentage and the only thing I can think of is they just don't want the liability. *shrug*

Personally, I've got 20% on the rear and 30% on the sides and I'm quite happy with it...plenty dark enough for me.

I had 15% all around on my Oldsmobile, and I only had a problem once, but that was in vineland, so I didn't take the cops warning seriously

I will be going 15% on the GTA this summer, I'll have to see though. IROCKERS windows are pretty dark, so I may go with the next least tint after 15% on the sides.

As for the back, I believe the law is you can do whatever to the back, you can even paint it black if you want LOL... thats what I was told. The only reason they don't like the sides dark, is because they need to see the driver and passenger. Dark windows is a good weapon for people with guns, I know we don;t have guns, but someone else may have *shrug*

I wouldn't worry about it though, cops aren't that picky about it, just hope the cop isn't in a bad mood

Actually I have heard that about the back window too being as dark as you want. The real legal infringement is the side windows as Nathan stated.

Ok my friend is a cop and he told me that.. there are no laws against tint.. QUOTE: " They have to be able to see the driver of the vehicle" so no matter what the tint is if you get a prick of a cop he can bust you... so you take the risk to have the tint.. I have never had a problem but maybe someday..

This is what I have heard as well.... there is no law, but the have to be able to see you. When I got pulled over in the Olds, he asked me to put my window up, so he can see if he can see inside.

You can tell how dark mine is from this pic... the side and back windows are pretty much opaque.

Here's an old pic.... mine is limo. I think it is 5%. I wouldn't recommend anyone going this dark. It actually is a problem for visibility at night and in bad weather.

5% is waaay to dark

Coming from personal experience on my old 92 Sunbird GT.... night driving sucks if you have to back up or use your side mirrors!! Plus it's just a ticket waiting happen... cop sees you past by and is having a bad day... notices the real dark side windows and bam, ticket! screw that... I am getting mine tinted but I think I will go with 35% on the sides and 15% in the back.

Just MHO :lala:
