strange symptoms WHATS WRONG?

sometimes my car won't start, sometimes it will. sometimes it shuts off and sometimes it won't. There is no pattern to this. the car will work fine for several days and then not be drivable for several days. it does not make a difference what the engine temp. is or the outside temp. The car sometimes doesn't even make it into DRIVE and sometimes it shuts off after driving for several miles after the engine is completely warm. This has been getting worse and i can hardly ever get the car to start. The fuel pump always works. i have a new TPS, coil, rotor, spark plugs, plug wires, exhaust. Motor has 15,000 miles on it. I began burning chips to try and fix the problem but it seems to keep getting worse. It does not make a difference if i use the stock chip or a custom one. Sorry for the long post but i have had this problem for a long time now and cannot figure it out. If any one has any ideas on the problem please let me know, i am about to ditch the TPI even though i like it better than a carb when it works.

i get a code 33 randomly. car runs fine when code comes up. the "ses" light does not light up when the car dies though. Do you think that if my MAF was wrecked it would cause such random symptoms?

ps. Both MAF relays are new. all connections are good.

it sounds more like its fuel related. like a fuel pump relay or wherever the computer gets the oil pressure to keep the fuel pump flowing once the car is started. it could also be a bad ground or loose connection at the fuel pump

my maf cars run fine when the maf isn't plugged in. just run rich and the ses light is on.

Both of my oil pressure sending units are new, the fuel pump relay is also new. can you actualy get at the connection to the fuel pump? I would like to check that. I know the pump is in the fuel tank, which side and where, in know it is a PITA.
thanks
