K&N Fuel Filter

hey guys, my friend has a gas tank that has alot of rust in it and it clogs the fuel filter almost every week and he has to put a new one on it. He is thinkning bout putting on a K&n fuel filter that is washable. I was wandering how do you wash them? just with water or what? And I was wandering if there is some type of solution that he can put in his gas tank to eat away some of that rust or something to help clean his tank out.thanx guys

If the issue is that bad the only sollution is a new gas tank, they're far easier to replace than an engine. I'd say get that rust bucket out of there....

As far as washing the fuel filter if its at all like the air filter they have a cleaner, then you rinse, and you're done....

but still... get that tank out of there.

How does the amsoil filter stack up against the competition?
I'm looking for numbers. Micron's and so forth.
