casting # 14096217 what heads are these?!?

I am currently waiting on my heads to get done from being ported and everything else. But there is a problem. The car I got the heads off of was an 89 GTA 350 TPI. I already took them to the machine shop but I am having a feeling that these arent L98 heads. and maybe some previous work was done on the car and they changed heads. does anyone know what these heads are off of. and are they worth the time and money being put into them? with a 220/230 .510/.510 114LSA cam and the egnien combo in my sig. I want to get into the 12's. what do you guys think about these heads?

They're:

14096217...55-86...350..........Crate motor, 285hp/300hp, 64cc chambers, 72' or 90' center intake manifold bolt angles

with that date range, are they even center bolt heads? I doubt it. That should have been your first indication that they definitely weren't stock.

Re: casting # 14096217 what heads are these?!?

I know thread is older than dirt, but I'm going to ad info since I searched for this to no avail, here's some info so the next person who searches gets what they are looking for.

14096217 Iron heads, are centerbolt. They are 1987+ (and later) and feature 72 degree center bolts. Valves are 1.94 and 1.5 with 64cc combustion chambers. The head is the same as L98 Iron head 14011083 which is why these heads were found on this car. They came from GM parts, if not a complete crate engine. The engine part number is 12353641. This 350 crate engine came with 285 hp, although I have seen them listed as making 300 hp though thats unlikely unless there was an option.

These heads were also used on Marine 350 engines, including TBI marine engines. Power ratings were up to 320 HP depending on application. GM DID make a 300 HP crate engine with the "217" heads on it. The same engine now comes with "062" vortec heads and makes an extra 30 HP. The 330 HP 350 HO replaced the now discontinued 300 HP 350 HO.
