All 88s have the alternator on the driver side. All 87s have them on the passenger side.
There are plenty of differences from 86 to 88, but none that will prevent you from using the 88 350 with your wiring harness. Just swap your accessories over to the new motor, make sure you use the 350 injectors, and get a custom chip made, or at the very least, get one for an 87 L98 f-body. You'll need to use your original distributer, or make a VERY MINOR altercation to your chassis harness to use the 88's small cap distributer. |
