The 1 degree of difference is hardly going to make up the fact that the LSA is lower and it will generate more power. The added lift will add a lot more power as well. I definitely wouldn't worry about that 1 degree.
I just found out that the cam I'm looking at is an SLP 51002 cam. (make by comp I guess).
I can get it for around $100 US new...
Also, I noticed they have two versions of the XR264HR. One has 112 seperation and one with 110. I've read a few place that TPI likes the 112 better for a cleaner idle (no lop)which I really want.
Stock lob seperation is 117 on my cam according to thirdgen.org's cam chart.
Do you think this cam would be too much for a 305, how much power can I expect from the XR264HR and would i pass emissions?

Hawk took the words right out of my mouth! The XR264HR-12 is the biggest cam you could go with, without having to do several more mods. I would still get Comp springs to match that cam. Computer tuning isn't necessary with that cam, but even that wont hurt to do also.
With PROM tuned perfect for it and some nice valve springs, you could expect 25 - 35 hp at the flywheel increase over the stock peanut cam and stock PROM calibration.
