I finally got the car dynoed. The highest we got was 328hp at the tires, giving me atleast 354 hp at the motor:
354hp@4910rpm & 540Nm(~398lbs/ft)@4130rpm at the motor. The dyno calculated me 7,8% drivetrain loss. (manual trans). The original air ducting (with K&N) chocked me approx. 20hp&14,7Ft/lb!! have to get that fixed..
We had our National F-body club (www.f-bodyfinland.com) weekend before the dynoday and my best ET was 13.64s@167km/h(>104mph), with a 2.100s 60' and with slicks!
That 60' was lazy, but the ECM was not tuned yet, it felt quite weak at the line. I'll have to get a new ET now after being tuned properly. For other modification, see sig.
1 Kw (kilowatt) = 1.36 horsepower
1 ft lb = 1.356 Nm (Newton meters) torque
blue = torque (Nm)
red = power (kW)

I'm not real well versed in the T-Ram, but it was part of the Firehawks so I'd bet it works bretty damn good all over. I know that quite a few years ago, Super Chevy or Hot Rod (can't remember) did a big write up on it and if I recall, it's pretty impressive.
CashMunson,
If your interested in the T-ram do a search an you will find all the info you want to know. SLP doesn't make the intake anymore do to a factory fire. It is an awesome intake in my opinion too bad it’s not made anymore. I would love to see an intake like the T-ram made for the SBC that allows you to sill have gobs of low end power and be able to go past 5000 rpm.
Flfinn,
Where did you get your hand on that T-ram?

it is awesome, I can tell you that revs quite fast and up, 6000 is no problem, I've got my rev limiter set at there. Some guy here in Finland was selling it and I just saw the post and bought it. It was missing it's original sidetanks which I was able to get through this site. Thanks Steve!:hail:

Every now and then they surface on eBay as well. The last one I saw went for a song, but the seller had no idea what he was selling. If I could get my hands on one of those, or a Stealth Ram for next to nothing I'd do it in a heartbeat. I am just not spending six bills on an intake, I can put that $600 towards the LS-1 and have way more power, not to mention fuel economy...ok maybe not.
sounds like a sweet intake, maybe i'll have to keep my eye out for one. I'm running the stealthram on my car. Bought it used off here for 425 shipped to my door. That included the base, plenum, fuel rails with AFPR and pressure gauge both already mounted on, and the vacuum fittings on the back.
I am actually really surprised how early the power peaks. I am actually not all that impressed that it peaks that early. Nothing against the combo though as it still thumps. Its just that with all the hype floating around I thought the T-Ram it might deliver more than it did.
It would be real nice to have that back to back against a Superram.

I bet the flow charts are quite close with T-ram&superram. The T-ram has some mystery and high expectations of how it's going to perform.
It's quite obviuos that the design is a compromise between good downlow torque and high revving hp's. I think they did a good job at the SLP at the time.

Werd!
Its just that all of us running around with Superram thumpers have that notion in the back of our minds that the T-Ram is the evil Nemisis that is the only other "TPI" setup worth doing battle against.
Do you know where I can get some pics to see what that thing looks like inside?

you wouldn't even put the miniram and stealthram in the same category? i've seen alot of people get rid of their super ram in favor of a stealth ram

No, they are fine products, but they are not long-runner tuned intakes.
Thats all. Different intakes with differnt RPM range etc..., good products but not "TPI"

Awesome combination! Looks really good uner the hood. I'm curious though, are you running that setup on a stock L98 shortblock? If so, what compression are you running with those heads and what size is the combustion chamber on them?
Way to make it sing man ! I too am a TPI fan ( LTR for now but ....) I am actually really impressed with them digits..... I have seen a fair bit worse

Congratulations on the dyno result. Maybe with more suspension you could see lower times at the track? Have fun beating the LS1's and Mustangs, if there are any around you.
Sorry to get off your topic here, but, what exactly is this alternator pulley cap called and where can I get one? I looked around here for a bit, but am coming up empty.

Thanks
Comes with most MARCH pulley sets. It is just a cone that looks pretty and screws onto the front of their pullies. I have one to.

Flfinn:- First off congrats on your dyno numbers.
May I ask, how did you get those figures for what the original ducting with K+N were costing you? Did you bypass the MAF and put the air straight in the throttle body? Or was it only distal to the MAf that you changed things?

I'm using Haltech ECM (-->MAP). We first dynoed it with the ducting several times while tuning. I was a bit dissappointed with the results we could get. In the end we dynoed for the last time without the ducting and the results were that much better. See the video if you like:
As for the track times, some explanations: limited slip was more like unlimited, didn't wan't to brake my T-5 (launched about 2500-3000 rpms), my rear suspension is totally stock (execept eibach springs), the ECM was not tuned yet at that time..
I hope at least some of those defects will be gone during this winter: I'm looking for a T-56 and rearend will be upgraded.
We got LS's and mustangs here, haven't had a chence yet, maybe they fear me

the bottom end is fully balanced, ARP'ed, with KB hypereutectic pistons, otherwise stock. AFR's came with 68cc's. the calculated CR is 10.1:1

Head studs almost gave me a real pain in the ***.. some I could get my tools on by removing valve springs. One was especially tight fit.. a motorcycle spark plug tool was very helpful. Head gasget is a standard fel-pro.
my goodness! what cam are you useing? im sure thats the whole reason it does not really make power past 5000rpm. it could not be the tune, because it makes so much tq below 3000rpm. awsome car. i bet its really a wild ride! congrats on great power!
oooopppppps! looked at the graph closer, it would apear that you have more rpm in it! i guess it is the tune. looks like hp will peak at about 5200-5400rpm. very nice.
Hot cam felt like a "big" cam at that time as I bought it before my latest setup (AFR's + T-ram). There is unused potential to go with a better cam. I stil have to pass local smog tests.. The cam would have to be that 'small' anyway.
