LS1 Fuel Rail Covers (on TPI) completed, take a look

I had to chop these things a ton in order to make them fit. They basically cover up the valve covers and some of the wiring under the hood.....looks much cleaner now.

It looks nice, but personally I think I'd rather just have some nice valve covers. I've always preferred a minimalistic approach.

thats what I was going to do...but I got such a great deal on these..I couldn't turn them down...

This is another mod I don't think anyone has done...and alot of people thought it was impossible...that's another reason why I thought I'd take it on

I agree with Jim some nice chrome or even painted valve covers would look nicer. I also don't like the Corvette printed on it. Reminds me to often of the people who sell these cars and talk about how it has the Vette engine in it.

On a positive note nice job on getting it to fit.

i think that looks awesome. i'll agree though the vette on the cover always makes me think of dealers who say, "oh it has this option and this option oh yeah and corvette engine". did u take any pics outside of the engine bay so i can see the kind of cuts you had to make?

Ummm... why? Why not just get the TPI Corvette covers? Don't get me wrong, it looks ok, but... just not right.

I'm no mechanic, I was told that the runners would have to be taken off to get the passenger side valve cover on. And like I said before, I got these dirt cheap..and I would have probably spent $100 bucks or so for a set of used Vette Valve covers. If I could have just gotten a set that said nothing, or that said "Z28" I would have...the Corvette logo doesn't bother me one bit. I think this really updated the look of the engine bay...the main reason I took the project on is because just about everyone said it couldn't be done...that's really one reason why I wanted to do it.

I think it looks sweet. And no are cars didnt come with vette engines... get over it his is faster now anyways!

It would look neat if you painted the top of your intake black and left the rest polished.. and maybee paint the vette letters yellow or get red wires, too many colors that close

yah the cast aluminum vette valve covers can be expensive, but they arent worth it. i had a set and they were junk. the factory wrinkle finish had chipped off in a few places so i figured i woudl sandblast them and re-wrinkle coat them or paint them. well the more i sandblasted the more casting imperfections i found. the aluminum castings were full of sand holes and bumps and they looked like crap, now i nkow why GM wrinkle coated them, to match the intake and runners and to cover up their horrible casting quality. the LS1 covers are a neat idea and they look ok, certainly something different. by the way you dont need to pull either of the runners to get the valve covers off.

The rest of the engine looks too nice for those covers. Some polished stainless valve covers would have looked much better. But I will say you did a good job on making them fit.

Well your headed in the right direction. It seems the thing to do these days with Custom cars and production vehicles, is when you open the hood you see nothing but a clean cover over everything. I have seen some I like, but I am sorta old school, I like the chrome and seeing the pieces and how they fit together.

I think youve got one of the badest ROC's on the board as far as appearance! I love it!

You going a little to far putting those on. What happens when you want to put oil in, you gotta remove the cover?

Unless youve got an LS1 to go with those covers I'd leave them off! Most people know where those covers come from.

And Yes, All I have to do is pop the cover off.....no tools involved and no big deal.....

On this website...Yes....most people around here...No. To tell you the truth...about 75% of the people here think my car is a Trans Am....and I have nooooo idea why. I would expect most of the people on TGO to know what the fuel rail covers came off of......unless your on an F-Body fan....noone has a clue. I've had people ask me "where did you get your spoiler?"...."where is your carb"...and "where did you have those ground effects made"...some I'm really not concerned about people wondering "Where did you get those covers"...

The only thing that looks out of place to me is the yellow plug wires and scattered routing. Get some red wires with some matching red wire routing holders of some kind, and it'll be complete!

It looks good except for one thing....you don't drive a Corvette!! Personally I am not a fan of putting things like that on our cars. We don't drive Corvettes, and we don't have Corvette engines!
