Anyone using the self-aligning Comp Pro Mag 1.6 roller rockers I have some questions?
I am about to replace the valve seals on my L98 91 z28. I figured that I would replace the old valve springs, pushrods, and rockers in the process, and I just have a couple of questions. I was going to order the 1.6 ratio comp pro magnum roller rockers to get alittle more lift out of the stock cam.
I went to summit racing and they have part number 1318-16 as being non-self aligning although they are listed as self aligning other places. Is this the part number for the self aligning ones or not?
I have also heard that using a 1.6 ratio rocker causes pushrod clearance problems on the stock heads, what experiences have you had with this? I have seen that most of these issues seem to occur on earlier L98 heads, but I just want to make sure.
I am also going to use the stock valve covers and have read about the modifications that have to be made, but I just want to be sure about this. I planned on following the instructions shown on this page http://www.hotss.com/Members/scott_vaca/pro-mag.htm and just wanted to make sure this was adequate or should I actually grind the supports.
Lastly, I was also going to replace the stock pushrods with some comp high energy ones and was wondering what length are the stock ones. 7.195" is what I think is the stock replacement but I am not sure.
Thanks in advance for your guys help. I just want to make sure everything will go smoothly before I place the order

yes, that is the pt# for the self aligning rockers, according to comp cams website, "PART #1318-16:Chevrolet V8 1988 & Later with self aligning rockers Rocker Stud: 3/8 Ratio: 1.6 "
unfortunately i haven't had any experience with them, i have been looking into buying them, also to get a little more from the stocker cam. a friend told me there would be clearance issues with the stock valve covers ... i was just looking for more info on some way around that issue. maybe some aftermarket VC's with more clearance would be the best route. as far as the stock pushrod length i'm not sure ... wish i could be morre help, but like you i'm lookin for info also.

I am running 1.6 rockers on the stock L98 cam. I have stock 88 L98 heads, although they have been milled a good amount.
I did not have any interfernce problems with the pushrods and the heads.
