What kind of gas milage are 383 tpi guys getting?

How much worse is it than a 350.

Dont have a real good town number so I woulg guess about 15-18mpg.

the highway is another matter, its break in run to bowling green KY from NW IN it averaged over 20 on the way down.

I tuned and tuned while I was there and averaged 21.45 on the way home with loaded car and windows down doing 70+ the entire way home.

This is on pure tuning alone and still have other things to play with like highway mode and the like :-)

Its a vortec headed TPI 383 w/ 8.67-1 compression and a 216/221 w/ .500 lift cam. Gears are 3:23 and converter is a vigi 2600stall lockup.

later
