| NEED HELP, non-3rd gen fuel prob
Hopefully this wont get locked out but I cant find any info elsewhere so far. I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima (wifes car) when the car was running right it was a decent car.
The problem I am having with the car is when you try to accelerate and the car gets above 4500 RPM it will cut off as if it were shut off and you have to let off the throttle to get it to go again and at that point the RPM is dropped off to about 3800. First time the car is started in the morning it will hesitate when you just start to accelerate from a stop. While testing the car today I can leave it in park open the throttle hold it to mid position let the car run up to about 5000 RPM and while holding the pedal the engine will stumble fall off to about 4200 RPM and then start to climb back to 5000 and fall back to 4200 and keep doing this till I let off the gas.
Im thinking it may be a lean condition? but really not sure when its warm it idles fine and runs like normal untill it hits the higher rpms.
when I ran the diagnostic with my Auto-Xray this is what I get
short term fuel tri #1 ranges from -1% to -6.3%
long term fuel trim stays steady at -10.2% no changes unless I give it a little gas.
Short term #2 ranges -4 to -7.1%
Long term #2 stays the same as #1 long term at -10.2%
RPM at idle after a few minutes warmup 712
timing ranges 14-15 deg advanced
air flow .4 pounds per minute
tps = 0% (when I open the throttle I can watch this change smoothly without any hangups or without any areas of no reading as if it wore out a specific area)
O2 sensor #1 ranges .02 to .70 Volts rapidly (I know the change seems correct just not sure about the range)
there is another Short Term fuel trim reading for #1 in the list on the Scanner and it reads -6 - -10%
O2 #2 reads .03V to .25V
and short term trim states it is not supported on this page.
I checked all the coils and there are no codes indicating missfires, when I unplugged the coils one at a time, each one had the same affect on the idling of the engine so they are all working the same ammount.
Any information or someone to refer me to about this would be greatly appreciated. Im trying to not have to take it to the dealership unless I absolutely have to.
Its the wifes car so I need to fix it or Im up a creek
