replacment heads
I just bought a used set of heads for my 86 305tpi iroc and would like to know if this set will work for my car
the casting is 14014416 305 1.85 intake 1.5 exhaust
i planned on having them rebuilt and ported. the price really cheap so im just hopeing they will work.

Hawk is correct. They should work fine so long as they are not damaged.
The first thing to do is strip them down, have them cleaned and magged. If they are intact, open the intake bowls to 1.94", bowl-hog them to the top of the ports on both sides, move a 2" shell mill over to the chamber perimeter another .050-.060", scribe the gasket outines at the flanges, blend them in, then fit them to these templates:
That should provide about 177cc/64cc port volumes, and if the valves are set correctly, 57cc chamber volumes after unshrouding. That should provide a bit more peak flow, yet not so much that the TPI will lose effective velocity/charging in the preferred lower RPM ranges.
