Holley Stealth Ram TPI - Vacuum line questions. MAP question.

Holley Stealth Ram TPI - Vacuum line questions, MAP question.

Hi all,

I have a 5L TPI engine with a Holley Stealth Ram fitted. It's the MAF type NOT MAP.

I'm fairly new to EFI and Trans Am's to add so any help would make a big difference.

What I have found is that on the back of the Stealth Ram there are a few vacuum ports. ON the very vague installation manual, it shows the top port being connected to the MAP and bottom being connected to the Fuel Regulator then the other the Brake booster.

What I have found is that the port that is meant for the MAP (which I don't have) was connected to two vacuum lines. One was a black plastic pipe that looked like it was running in to the car with the wiring loom, or at least under the car anyway. ON the other side of the T-piece it runs down to a big black ball under the front of the car.
(firstly I don't know where these two vacuum hoses run and what they do)
Secondly what should I be doing with the MAP port on the ram if it's not there to be used?

Any help or advice welcome.

Francis.

Look near the bottom of this webpage for a description on all of the fittings:

HSR Intake Manifold

I also have a MAF car and will be installing the HSR sometime this month.

Hi mate, thanks heaps for the link.

You know where you listed "the other hose from the ventilation controls" Does this mean that the heater and vens are controled by Vacum in Trans Am's? I have removed what was pluged in there and have yet not noticed any thing not working but I will now have to check that out. So would you know what the Black round thing under the front LHS is?

The black round thing is a vaccum res, it holds a "back up" supply of vaccum to maintain it at your enviro controls when you go WOT. Yes the T/A have vaccum controlled vents, with no vaccum it will default all air to the windscreen.
