Vortec TPI manifold?

Any suggestions for what manifold to use on a motor with vortec heads?

Is it difficult to modify the stock intake?

What options besides the edelbrock intake do I have? (If any?)

I'd really like to keep the heads that I already have on this motor (Currently carb'd)

Thanks,
Dave

scroggins dickey sells a vortec TPI base, and someone also has a vortec holley stealth ram, but i cant seem to find those.

I have used both the stock intake and the scoggin dickey intake with the vortec heads on my 87 formula 350.

The stock intake does fit by adding holes in the heads but the ports do not lineup that well.

I used a large felpro gasket and managed to seal everything up.

The swap to the vortec heads with the stock intake gave me noticably more power and after adding the scoggin dickey intake traction became an even larger problem.

I still have not added the exhaust EGR tube yet but it still runs excellent

Awesome, thanks for the advice!

The only tough part is shelling out the $400 for the intake now, haha.

I'm still used to carb intakes which cost 1/2 that.

yeah, I think that's it, but I'm more interested in this:

Any improvement over a stock base, or does it flow the same and the only difference is that it bolts up to vortec heads?

I've heard that virtually everything out-flows the stock base...

OK, being more serious, I would think that the intake would give you a noticeable improvement over stock.

Re: Vortec TPI manifold?

Edelbrock makes the Vortec TPI intake manifold for Scoggin Dickey, but Scoggin Dickey sells it for the least, at $399 last time I checked.
