FYI Accel base=Edelbrock base these days. Sucks I know.

The runners will be worth the wait... I think. I still need to install mine.

It's the pricing that pisses me off.

Really? I'm the opposite. If I were AS&M, I'd stay in the shop and build them all. Make 1 trip to the post office instead of 22. Besides, people are going to be jealous if one person gets their runners on Oct 20th while another person is getting them on Nov 7th. We all ordered the same day.

Yeah, I guess you're right Reid. But as sure as heck hope they ship via someone/anyone other than the Post Office, lol...

Looking at it from your perspective, it does make more sense to make them all, then ship them all out.

The more I keep pondering over it, the more I want to do a cam and head swap anyway...

You guys think I'll get mine sooner (Houston) since a lot of you are farther east?

How long do you think it will take to just install the runners?

It wont matter to me when I got my runners. For the deal that we all got I can wait, besides I have a full exhaust system to throw on first. Ill probably port the plenum b4 runner install too. Im thinking really hard on getting the aftermarket base.

1. You're not going to find any local parts houses with runner gaskets for an aftermarket runner. (Not to mention that I don't want to buy a gasket kit, for a set of runners that are on the way, and already come with gaskets)

2. I've never yet, in 26 years of wrenching, seen a gasket that matched the ports on anything, right out of the box.

3. You don't want to port the parts to match a gasket, you want to port the parts to match the parts.

I've gotten the measurements I need, from the members were kind enough to post above, and will rough my plenum and base in, using those measurements. Thanks.

I got Mr. Gasket 146 gaskets (big mouth) from Auto Zone, I had to order em but I got em in about 2-3 days for the same price Summit wanted. Admittedly I wasn't too impressed with the fit (I have an 86 base FYI) of some of the base gaskets they needed to be trimmed some on the eges. Also running stock runners for the moment, but I figure I had the base off it needed to get ported, and even the stock gaskets seemed to overlap into the port some.

Hey, I just got my Daily Driver back, so I am ready to start wrenchin on my Mini-Ram. Are you still interested in my SLP Runners? If so, i'll expedite taking them off within the next week or so, after work when I get time or even this weekend forth coming. If you are not interested I would just work on it throughout the winter. Let me know. Send me an PM.
