92 L98 GTA - Ford Racing Fuel Injector Size Advice Needed

I am thinking about modding the hell out of my 92 GTA but everything I do, I want to be able to undue without destroying the collectability of the car. I don't know yet how far I will go to mod it yet, but I will be at least doing headers, catback, AS&M intake runners, SuperRam base, ported plenum plus a few other mild mods. I was wondering, if I decide to do a cam and AFR heads, what size fuel injectors should I run. I was planning on getting some Ford Racing 24 lb injectors but will those be too small for a heads and cam car or should I get 30 lb injectors? The car will never have spray or a turbo or a Procharger added.

Also, should I get the regular Ford Racing injectors or the flow matched ones?

Re: 92 L98 GTA - Ford Racing Fuel Injector Size Advice Needed

It depends on the size of the camshaft, but the 24lb injectors running a 46-50 psi should flow enough fuel for you up to 5500 rpms. With the ASM runners I doubt you'd go over that. One word of advice, Accel doesnt make the SuperRam base anymore, its made by Edelbrock, and Edelbrock sells its for $50 cheaper. Regular vs flow-matched injectors is a personal preference, but since you arent going nitrous or blower the regular ones should be fine. Also, you WILL need a custom chip burned with larger injectors and camshaft, so either start learning or find a local friend. Good luck!!

Some of the mods in my sig I've bought already and others will have to wait. I don't know yet if I'll do heads and cam but I was thinking about ordering injectors soon. I recently bought a SuperRam base that is being shipped as we speak and I was lucky enough to get a real Accel one not an Edelbrock. Thanks for the input.

That's a pretty impressive ET, BTW.

Learn to tune and buy whatever size you think you may ever use. I'm running 30LB Accels in my 305 just perfectly. I bought them because I figure when I go to a Procharger, I should be good up to about 10psi with the 30lb'rs.

With all the other mods you are planning, why not learn to tune and get the stuff to do it? I cringe when I hear people wanting to slap **** things like changing the fuel pressure and swapping injectors when it should all be done the only correct way there is which is in the PROM parameters. My motto is over buy and then compensate. That way you have room to grow.
