Hows it goin? I just purchased a '89 GTA that came with a set of used 40lb injectors (so the owner says) but the strange thing is that they have the "ford" label on them! did the owner just me or can ford injectors actually be used on TPI engines? here are some pics! Thanks!

Those injectors are manufactured by Bosch for Ford. They are sold by many suppliers as replacements for the Multecs. The "pink" Bosch's flow slightly less than 22lb/hr however on a stock L98, they will work fine as replacements. Do a search and you should find much more info about them.
heh, i have the lucas disk type injectors, can hear them from my drivers seat if the hood is open.. but they work pretty sweet for 20 yr old injectors..
no such thing as performance injectors, your perception is skewed.
there are cheap injectors, and injectors worth the money, thats it, in my opinion.
now what you have are well regarded and widely used as replacements for performance minded enthusiasts, so in one respect, yes you have "performance" injectors. but all in all, they all squirt fuel, and how much they squirt for a given input is how they are rated (grossly simplified explanation).
as i said, be happy your looking at well over 300 dollars to do it yourself, and it's allready done. think of it kind of like,,a temperature sensor. you can pay full price at the dealership, or you can pay bargain bin for overseas parts, guess what they still read the temp, accurately for the most part. longevity might be the difference in price. get the idea? you're doing good and you didn't get raped by any means. 40's would have been rediculously oversized anyways.
Right on! Nice lil' freebie that came with the car but wasn't sure what type they where; Now I won't have to look for a set of injectors if mine go bad! They seem to be in good condition...what do you guys think? also, which if the numbers on the injector represents the lb/hr if any?
None of the part numbers on the injectors tell what lb/hr they are. On one side is the Bosch part number (0 280 150 561) and another is the Ford part number (FOTE-9F593-D9B). There will also be a three digit number which is a date code when they were manufactured.
yes, they are 22lb/hr injectors. i bought a set of these a few years ago for my car. i put about 20,000 miles or so on them and I just took them out and put in 30#/hr with my new heads, cam, headers, y-pipe, and runners so if anyone wants a set of these injectors ive got a set for sale.
Whoa! check this out! I was about to install the red tops on my '89 GTA but decided to do a little research to be sure of the flow rate and found that they are actaully 30lb injectors and not 22lb ones...good thing I found this out otherwise my car would of been running rich like crazy! check out the link http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/Injec...RD.asp#bluetop you can't miss em!
hope this info helps!
