Im curious if there is a standard formula for matching the heads with the duration of the cam using intake cc or flow numbers of the heads, or possibly projected HP peak? If it helps, the heads Im getting have 170cc intake runners and I estimate my HP peak at somewhere around 4800RPM. Anyone? You usually go with flow numbers. If your heads flow their best at .500" lift, you pick a cam with .500" lift or so. Duration will depend on what RPM you want. At 4800 RPMs, you want a cam with 208-212 intake duration. See the cam tech article on this website for more info.
