Re: How much power can u get out of a 305 tpi
Not trying to bag on you at all! But i have a buddy who has a 305 TBI With a THM-700R4 And a all stock rear end. With only a magnaflow exhaust and a very mild mild cam. Oh and race fuel! And He does 14.7 in a 1/4 mile. Now i am not calling you a liar or trying to insult you whatsoever but i do believe if you did all of those upgrades in your signature "I" think you would have run a better time.
Perhaps your set up isn't matched up all that great?

HOLY POST FROM THE DEAD! This was 2 years old! I had to read it all because I didn't remember it all.
I think I'm doing just fine. And I did find my time slip. That was fully dressed, 3/4's full with 91 octane. My sub box in rear too. Show me his time slip.....then I'll believe you. I whopped on my Brother in laws old 89 GTA 350 TPI car in stock forum. If he didn't spray his 150 shot, (because I was beating him) I would win every time.
I painted my car Candy apple red this past winter, won 3 1st place trophies.
I shaved my door handles, so I'm not worried about the 1/4 mile track anymore lol.

Tenpin, It does look really good, but what is that pinkish stuff on the intake plenum? Paint overspray?
14.86 secs. what a disappointment.... I've never been to the track, but I always thought that my car would turn a 14.00 @ 98 MPH... Maybe I'm wrong about that....
Oh and FYI, my 2032 cam just broke a hole in my timing chain cover. The pin in the end of the cam was rubbing against it. Tapped the pin in farther and replaced the cover. PITA!!

LOL...that's the reflection from the under hood of my car. Its all polished aluminum. So its almost like a mirror finish.
Thanks for the compliments!! I have a 350 bored .040 over waiting to put in once I can afford to finish building it. But I'm in no hurry.
All I can say is run your car you never know. I I did some weight reduction and put some sticky tires on maybe I would have turned a better time. I was running 160-180 so I know I wasn't running hot.

Oh it's polished.... I see. Looks sweet. I guess that if you go to a 350 you will paint all the engine compartment too. That will make it look REALLY clean. I painted much of mine when I replaced the cam and heads. Now I need to work on fixing dings and dents.
I've been fixing oil leaks, replacing steering, clutch etc. The list is long. The current issue is getting the flywheel balanced. Turns out that if you install a brand new one it may have a bad vibration. Mine does.... The GM dealer didn't know that there are Flywheel trimmer weights and a balancing procedure in the camaro service manual... It's been a friggin' nightmare trying to get this issue resolved.

I hope you get all your issues taken care of.
I don't really have a whole lot with mine, other then not driving it enough lol! I do get the looks though, I'm pretty happy with the car.

Re: How much power can u get out of a 305 tpi
Seems to me that everything I've done to this car has been a challenge... Bad parts, poor workmanship...you name it. But I guess that it's getting better step by step.
Here's a pic of the engine compartment paint.
Installing the Crane 2032
After Cleaning Carbon off the Pistons
World Heads (pocket ported & ported exhaust), Roller Tips, AFPR & 22# SVO's
Glass Bead Blasted Stock Intake, Painted Valve Covers.
9 Bolt before Installing new 3.45 Ring & Pinion
New Leather, Fabric and Carpet

That's awesome! post up some pics!
If you have not been there...go to www.mifbody.com and sign up.
It's a great site for people with F body's here in Michigan. I use the same screen name.
The people there are VERY cool!
Best of luck with the project!

I so wish I could have done a set of heads for my 305.....I think it would be a whole different animal.
