Re: XFI280

the superram idk if it would peak with the xfi280, the supperam has how much of an operatiing range? i doubt 6000. the 355 with the xfi280 will want to REVVVV! id say 6000 with no prob and its really gona depend on your heads as well. match the heads/cam/intake together

i got the XFI280 for my HSR 383 and ive been porting the HSR, and im using patriot195cc heads. im hoping for peak power to be 5500-6000. the only reason why its peaking that low is becasue its a 383. im hoping for 480-500hp at the crank
your 350 will rev even more.

Re: XFI280

What are the patriot 195cc heads like? I have just ordered a set. I am going to be using an XFI cam but haven't decided weather to wait and stroke the motor to 383 or just run a 350.

Re: XFI280

they are good castings, good quality, and they are light lol
i had the dual roller spring upgrade for .670 lift, the 5 angle valve cuts, and CNC bowl blend, they came with vitton seals, stainless valves and hand porting..

they looked really good, i didnt even know that ported the intake and exhuaust runners untill i looked in with a flash light. im very happy with them. where did u get them from? i got mine from skips white performance for 860 shipped to my door.

the 195cc patriots that flow 260-270cfm will really really rev on a 350. ur peak will be 6500-7000 unless u punch it out for more cubes. the cam will depend on ur intake/head combo.

Re: XFI280

I got mine through an e bay store here in Australia. I paid $1400 shipped.
alloy heads over here generally cost from AUS$2000 to AUS$3500 so I think I got a good deal. I had my springs upgraded to suit the roller cam and I beleive mine have the CNC bowl blend and five angle valve cuts.

I'm running a TPI with 58mm throttle body, CNC ported plenum, SLP runners and I will be gettung a better base manifold. Even with all this the intake won't rev to 6500-7000rpm. Thanks why I think the 383 might be the way to go.

Re: XFI280

with your upgrades it seems that ur TB is alil too large, i woulda went with a 52mm, ur TPI even tho upgrades is prob peaking at 5200-5400 depending on the port job of the plenum, runners and base, stock tho ported to stock SLP runners and upgraded base will give u 5200rpms. thats on a 350.... if u put that on a 383 those 33 extra cubes is gona lower that peak RPM even more. id say 4500-4700 like stock. good news is that ur gona be making a butt load of torque, so i hope u got a strong drivetrain and lots of tires.

port the SH!T outa the plenum, gut the runners completely and port and extrude hone it all and u got 6000rpms! but thats $$$$ muchoooo$$$$.

i would look into a 52mm TB, ur RPMS arent high enough/ intake isnt flowing enough for a 58mm TB, 52mmTB will flow 900cfm dry flow, most 383s run with 750-850 wet flow carb... thats really like 650 dry flow. so the 52mm will give u more and better throttle response and increased power.
