350 idle speed too high????

I just purchased a new 92 z28 with a 350. It seems that the idle speeds (both park and in drive) are running too high.

When I start the car, it is running 1000 rpms in park and about 750 in drive, which is fine but once I start driving, it runs too high at stop lights (1000 to 1300 rpms)

At 1300 rpm's, I kick the the side of the accelerator and it drops to about a 1000 rpms but not any lower. As I release the brake it takes off with no pushing on the accerator on my part.

Also, as I slow down, it downshifts hard because my speed is low (about 5-10 mph) but my rpm's are too high, so I think it is confusing the computer.

This is my first tpi camaro. I had alot of old carburated ones, so I could adjust the idle speeds.

With TPI, you can't, at least that I do not know of.

I am thinking that maybe the linkage needs some carburator spray to "loosen" the caught up linkages.

When I shut it down and start it back up, it runs fine (750 rpm in drive) but once I go, it seems to get caught at 1000-1300 rpm's at stop lights.

Any help would be appreciated.

Manny
