I'm trying to catch this problem before it starts happening more frequently:
I had just gotten into 5th gear on the highway yesterday and was accelerating slowly from 55-->70 when for about 2 seconds, the car pulled back on me, acting LIKE it was in a lower gear.
The same thing happened today, but when I was in third doing about 30, once again slowly accelerating, 1/4 throttle.
Otherwise the car runs like a beast all day (beast=good in my vocab ) I've thrown no code so far.
My v6 bird used to do this, and it wound up being the entire ECM, but I'm not about to jump to conclusions w/ this car. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
yes, that's about right, but i'd better try again:
this has only happened twice, but from experience before, it feels like the VERY beginning of a problem...
during slow acceleration, a sudden jerk occurs and lasts for about 2 seconds tops, it's not violent but enough for me to notice. the feeling is "AS IF" i had put the car in a lower gear for those 2 seconds.
Sounds like a miss, from an arking plug wire.
Watch the engine running at night and look for little lights from around the wires, check the entire length and at differnt rpms.
My car does this now and again due to my wires leaking voltage and arking.
Hope this helps.
