MAT sensor question

i know the stock tpi sensor is a peice of brass really, i am going to do the mat relocation in my TA, isent there a newer sensor (LT1?) that has a open element instead of a peice of brass to more acuratly meter things?

if so what can is it for? i basically wanna goto the parts store and get the mat sensor for a 199????

no reason to relocate the mat on a maf car.. do a search on it and save some time and money.
